In Topic: Least Favorite BG2 NPC!

Had to go with Cernd (Jaheira or just about any other NPC is far superior to him in ability), Valygar (just seems dull), and Haer'Dalis (ends up very underpowered IMO). Valygar I usually take for his quest at least, but I don't even bother with the other two at all any more.

Others that I used to like but have lately have gone stale are Minsc (I don't find his shtick as amusing as in BG1, not to mention after hearing it over a dozen playthroughs), Jaheira (was actually once the trusted lieutenant of all my various PCs, but I guess I used her so much she went flat on me), Nalia (thought she was a sweet girl, but I've grown tired of her help-the-needy line. Last time I brought her along was when I tried her romance mod, quite enjoyable, but without that forget it), and Yoshimo (similar reason as Jaheira, also he's usually odd-man-out as I try mod NPCs).

I've played both games at least a dozen times each, and can say with certainty that the PC is intended to be a good (lawful or neutral) human fighter. I also read the books (first two anyway), and my retching disgust caused by the contents of said novels should dispel any suspicions that I'm simply advocating Abdel as the ideal.

BG2 the PC is intended to either remain a straight fighter, or dual to fighter/mage.

There is a semi-romance in the Yasraena mod. Spoilers ahoy!

You can take an interest in her, ogle her a few times, make a few suggestive comments. She leads you on in it (or is just oblivious to your intentions), but then you have to back down, or she shoots you down, once you both realize that she's head-over-heels for Divalir. Another piss-off about that mod is if you're simultaneously romancing Viccy, she'll tell you to bugger off as well, as she won't play second-banana to Yasraena.

For all their arrogant belief in their own superiority, they fall just as easily to my blade as any other foe. However, I'll go ahead and say Viccy, even though I've never actually finished a romance with her. Since my interest in Jaheira lately has waned, and other than Imoen, she is often the NPC who I include in my group the most right from BG1 (where I pop out to Peldvale shortly after arriving at the Friendly Arm just to pick her up) all the way into TOB.

My latest playthrough I experimented for the first time by gutting Solaufein and not betraying Phaere to her death.

I'm pretty sure mine was Spy Hunter, on the C64. If not, it was something else on the C64 or the Atari.
