Swoop racing

I've been finally convinced to play this game, it's okay so far, but (no matter how hard I try) I just can't beat 0:41:xx time at the swooptrack! I'm always close, but can't get my time under 0:42. Is there a trick or a playing strategy I'm unaware of? I've seen a link to an easy swoopracing mod, but that's cheating of course (the thing I try to avoid). So, how did you beat that time? I've tried at least 2 dozen times up to now, my best time is 0:42:31. This is really annoying.
Damn those insects!

I've met a strange bug, can be an installation error tho, I'm not sure. I have my BP-BGT-NEJ build, and added CTB, DSOTSC, NTOSC, SOBH, TGC, Ease (BP-compatible components only), BG1NPC, Rougue rebalance mod, refinements v2, One pixel productions, plus Yacomo's worldmap and menu. I was off to the Gnoll stronghold when I met this strange bug. When I enter this (see on the pic) area the loading screen does not disappear. Instead it slowly goes transparent and then nothing remains but a black blank screen with my party on it. I can move around, even the map looks okay, but simply no area graphics shown!
If everything goes okay, you will see a screenshot here, hang on...
Edit: Damn!
I'm an idiot for sure, I can't post that bloody screenshot!

RTT gameplay question

It's very nice to see a new TC around, I love the idea of your work, and will certainly check it out after I finish my current game . Well, continueing (typo?) the game is very ambitious idea, sorry I can't stand it, I have to ask
Here are the questions I'm left with after reading your FAQ:
How did my char end up with only half a million XP? Is (s)he that old or what? (this shift is a bit much, since at the end of ToB, (s)he was an 8M_XP-bare_fist_dragonslayer-demigod ).
However I agree, the age can eat up (some of) your power, but this brings on another question: about how many years have passed since the end of ToB? (age affects races differently, so elves should not have a problem with aging a century, but this would mean a human's death of course )
And finally is this TC rather story- or combatoriented?
Edit: typos

Mods missing

In this BP compatibility list thread there are mods listed I can't seem to find anywhere. Even googling doesn't help much (sometimes I find links to TeamBG forum threads, but of course it's not helping). Any ideas where I could find some of these? (I'm particularly intrested in CBissons familiar pack, even tho I don't know anything about it. And there are others which sound interesting, but then again I don't have any information about them)
PS: I apologize for the rather offtopic nature of this thread, but I couldn't really find a better place to post this

Kit issues
05 February 2005 - 04:41 PM
Okay, I've been off for the week, took a bloody hard exam at university (and passed it btw ), and meanwhile I was thinking.
The thing is so simple that someone must have thought about it before me, please don't swallow me in that case, since I'm totally new to both this community and modding.
My idea (or rather just a mere thought) is: Why don't we just separate the character creation (I mean PCs of course) from the game? If there'd be a program that could create proper .chr files, we could just import them to our games and that's it. My point is that this way the enduser could menage all the kits installed (not just 9 for each class/race) and even mage kits (maybe barb/sorc/monk aswell?) along with their race/stat restrictions, maybe even custom (sub)races could be manageble?
Another question comes to mind here tho: would an avarage user like this method? I mean running a program for character creation instead creating it ingame.
