Topics I've Started

IWD2 sorceror or druid vs. BG2 sorceror or druid.

06 September 2004 - 01:22 PM

This is more of a BG2 basher than anything else, because obviously BG2 magics have nothing on IWD2 magics. I mean, doesn't it seem that IWD2 sunfire is a lot more powerful than BG2 sunfire? Maybe it's just me...and as far as summoning goes, the BG2 demon summons are good, but everything else is crap. I'd like to see that fire elemental take on a frost giant or a remorhaz... And druids, jeez, BG2 druids might as well just lay down and die... One thorn spray from my IWD2 druid would send a BG2 one running. IWD2 healing spells are better also. As far as gameplay (fighting, spells etc.) and powerfulness goes, IWD2 has BG2 under it's foot. But a lack of NPC banter and personality sends everyone running to BG2. Some people don't like IWD2 because the mages don't get sequencers, but think about it: Mordenkainen'd Force Missiles+Chain Lightning+ Soul Eater? That's just a bit much...

Weirdest characters you've made

28 June 2004 - 02:54 PM

I would just like to know, what's everyone's weirdest character they've made? My weirdest character ever is a 50 year old 3 foot tall warrior nun with an attitude named Sister Pain. She's a fighter cleric that uses a greatmace, and wears the traditional garb of nuns (that we're all familiar with anyway). Her only character flaw (besides an attitude) is that she is incapable of telling any form of a lie. In fact, sometimes she might just blurt out what's on her mind. Like one time we were in this tavern full of nasty looking people. Some disgusting half-orc sidled up to her and started hitting on her, and she clunked him with her mace and said "Dang, man, you just NAASTY!" And that started a bar brawl...

Sith

Have you noticed that almost every time (in movies, books, and games) that the sith reappear, they always seem to obliterate the jedi with ease and come within an inch of talking over the universe but then some unknown courageous personage comes in and kills the head baddie single-handedly? This theme is becoming very redundant. I'd like to see an appearing of the sith that doesn't almost completely destroy the Jedi Order. I mean, shouldn't they be ready for things like this? The constant annihilating of the Jedi just reinforces the Sith ideals.

Best Jedi Class?

For Dark Side, I think Consular is best, because you get more force points and more force powers, that's good because then you can become a killing machine earlier than usual.
For Light Side, I think Guardian is the best, because the only lightside force powers I used were speed and heal, the other ones just don't last long enough. Also, with all the close-up combat you face, having good fighting skills is a good thing.

Anyone ever played Redquard?

All I hear people talking about is Morrowind. What about the originals, like Arena, Daggerfall, and Battlespire?
