After several days of frustration I fixed it... in about 5 seconds
Updated the weidu exe. Grrrrr.....

This is absolutely awesome! For the record I have attached the weidu log for what I am currently playing - although after this I will be making some changes... My only regret is that NeJ is not playable with BGT as things stand. My install before last was the previous BP mega mod (before most of the components were weidu-ed) and I enjoyed NeJ but as my install is for a household of 9 people - 7 of whom play BGII, having components that need to be removed at some point to make the game playable is unfortunately not an option. (Btw, can anyone tell me how I could get the user interface from NeJ without installing the mod itself? ... I really like the picture and the use of the Cardigans track...) I am however VERY happy to see the Rogue Rebalancing in there _ I had probs installing it and want it enough to do a complete reinstall. I was extremely disappointed that the author was unwilling to have it redistributed in a format more compatible with other mods.
So (back to the topic!) I am really really impressed and thank you so much for making your installation instructions available in english. I think the amount of downloads you have seen tell you very accurately that your efforts are appreciated!

oops! after re-reading the installation "manual" again (this time NOT when I am in a hurry getting ready for work...) I see that NEJ DIDNT need deinstalling .... Oh dear... I feel another install coming on. (although maybe I'll wait until the weekend!)

Thank you very much for your help guys - the problem was the corrupted NEJ2 install. When it stuffed up I just used the things in my "clean install" folder. Turns out that didn't cover nearly enough things... When I did the full re-install everything worked fine. Btw, the install instructions I am following says to install Baldurdash after NEJ2 so that was what I was planning on doing. Thanks again very much - muchly appreciated!

ummm I did see that post and realised it was only to be used if you were wanting to change the music back and I wish it was the cause of my problem (cause then I would know what to do about it...) but although I did monkey around with it, it wasn't until after I had already had the problem - I was hoping it might help to fix the problem. I guess this means looking for another copy of at least one of the files? Mmm, only problem, which one? The last NeJ2v42b.exe file I downloaded seemed to work fine but... Any further suggestions please? (although I will try a whole new install I think just in case)
Any help would be great right now.
