BGII Loading Game Error

Well not sure if this is exactly the place for it, but here goes anyway: whenever I click Load Game in BGII the screen goes black and I get the error "An Assertion failed InfScreenLoad.cpp at line number 1428" and the game closes. I was playing yesterday and I could load games fine so I'm not sure why it's doing it now. Anyway ideas? Thanks.
