Yeah, I've got Vista right now. I heard some scary things about stuff on the hard drive being deleted though and I don't want to lose my saves.

Dude. I have the same problem. I think it's the fact that my internet connection is provided by the college though, and they probably have something in place that's blocking it.
Either way, your problem probably is a firewall or something.
It could also be your router. Certain types of routers make it hard to establish connections with other ports. I'd give you the technical terminology, but I totally forgot it. ^^;

Hm. This looks like the prefect time to go out and buy PS:T then. Must start saving up!

Hm. Sorry, can't help with that, I use Tutu and not BGT.
But generally when stuff I used to improve my BG games act buggy, if nothing else works I'll backup my save files, uninstall everything and start again with a clean install. Sometimes that actually does make things run smoother if you just try setting it up again. Especially with total engine converstions like Tutu and BGT, where there's like a gajillion places the setup can randomly go wrong.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

In Topic: Replaying BGII for the first time in ever!

The basics first, what is your Bhallspawn's class/classes and Kit?Suggestions would be nice. Yeah. I wanna have a new experience this time around.
Do you intend to role play your alignment, say I am a paladin, and will hack Edwin when he leaves cause he is unhappy etc.
And what's your general approach to a fight? Say: I pre-buff the boss fights and melee everything I contact with. Or summon a lot and use them to soak up the damage, while you do a fancy dismemberment of the hardest target in the area?
And which do you use, the BG2 Fixpack, or the BDash-WeiDU fixpack, and make sure you use the latest one...
Eh, I don't bother with the fixpacks. The mods never gave me any trouble without em, and neither did the vanilla games.
I'm a chaotic good sorceress. Playing the same character I always do. My next playthrough will be with someone different.
I'm roleplaying my alignment fine. My Bhaalspawn tolerates evil characters but she'll actively try to "change" them. This is probably why they usually leave.
