I've been having a lot of fun with this sandbox game, and I've even started making little videos of my adventures!
Adventuring with Ark - Minecraft Day 1
I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone who enjoys open-ended building games which also contain zombies.

The IWD spell "Snilloc's Snowball Swarm" in BG2
13 September 2010 - 06:55 AM
Snilloc's Snowball Swarm is a canon FR spell. It's essentially, for those who don't know, sort of like a coldbased fireball, except it's level 2 and does a lot less damage.
It was in the Icewind Dale games. I'd be amazed if nobody had ever gotten around to converting it to BG2, but I can't seem to find it mentioned anywhere.
Is anyone aware of a mod that adds it? Or if not, is there a technical reason why it would not be possible?

Kobold Captains of Doom
12 September 2010 - 03:29 AM
Had a bit of a problem that I've tracked down to Aurora's Kobold Commando module interacting with BGSpawn.
The Kobold Captains KOBCAP01.CRE and KOBCAP02.CRE are being given an AROW06.ITM and an AROW10.ITM. The problem is that in my installation AROW06.ITM is an arrow of detonation.
My party is levels 1 and 2, so arrows of detonation simply wipe us out. It seems excessive for the road to Nashkel.
I suspect that you did not expect them to turn up so early, but they're being used in BGSpawn. Or maybe it was an unintended typo and they're supposed to have arrows of fire anyway.
I'm sorted now, having removed the arrow of doom from the Kobolds, but I thought you might want to take BGSpawn into account. (Or maybe BGSpawn could make its own unique version of the Kobold Captains to avoid this being an issue).

This arrow has a particularly debilitating effect on its victims as, upon impact, it explodes into a huge ball of fire and shrapnel affecting all within the area.
STATISTICS:
Damage: 1D6
Damage type: missile (piercing)
Special: 6D6 explosion upon impact (save vs. spell for half)
Weight: 0
Launcher: Bow
Not usable by:
Cleric
Druid
Mage

Bonehill Review over at GitP

I thought you might be interested to see that the current "Let's Play BG" playthrough over at Giant in the Playground has gone through Bonehill this week. Had a lot to say about it, some good, and some not.

Losing Access to Spellhold Studios when running BW Filecheck.

Weird thing.
Every time I use the "Test Availability of the Downloads" button in the Big World setup program, about halfway through it stops being able to reach mods hosted at Spellhold, and not only that but I am unable to view this forum for ten minutes or so.
Is something getting upset about a large number of file requests in close succession, and locking me out?
