In Topic: Baldur's Gate Meme

I absolutely love this meme...everyone did such wonderful bits of their adventuring lives :3..Sammi's is as adorable as usual, and Doxia's has this sharp, somewhat cynical but cute feel about it, while the emotions in Lythari's drawings always got me. I can't help but love Abigail's Bhaalspawn's nonchalance, Erephine's beautiful portraits, Aliya's interesting style, and Nix's Angelo X3 and of course, Epantiras's blue bhaalspawn :P
I haven't seen a lot of Leila's works but I'm possitively falling in love with her style :3..

In Topic: Bioware NPCs I won't play again

Characters I don't really drag around anymore..hm..

Aerie-can be sort of sweet behind all the whining and emo fest, and somewhat grows up throughout the game (when we were in Hell and about to face Irenicus for the last time, Aerie's words just sort of made me go 'wow, you go aerie!') Don't really play her that much, but I always take her when I play the Kivan mod - It's just cute the way Kivan needs someone to fuss over and Aerie certainly needing to be fussed over :3 . However, I simply cannot stomach her when my PC is a guy, where the whinings took on a whole new level altogether. On this account I agree wholeheartedly with Cal on her treatment of Jaheira. It just feels so...highschool ^^; sort of shows that as a woman she is definitely not on the same level with Jaheira

Haer dalis- Simply put, I don't trust the guy. It just doesn't feel comfortable to be travelling, fighting, and getting into life-threatening situations with someone as...flighty as Haer dalis. Throughout a game with him I keep expecting him to just disappear in the most convinient moment without anything more than an airy bye-bye (something on the lines of 'it is time this sparrow should fly away' or something XD) Even when he was being all sweet romancing Aerie I can't help having a sinking feeling that one day Haer dalis is just going to disappear on her too. heheh, perhaps I'm just being paranoid :P

Mazzy-My logical mind kept saying that there's actually nothing wrong with Mazzy, but somehow I just can't stand her in my party for too long. I guess it's just that she reminds me so much of people who, without anyone asking them to, goes around busily telling people what to do and what is best for them-to the tiniest, most painstaking details. Somehow with Keldorn (who is also lawful-good) I don't feel this kind of overwhelming pushiness- I don't really understand it myself :P And again I agree with Cal on the way she treats Valygar, it's a bit disquieting to me.

I don't usually bother to pick up Korgan or Edwin...after brief run throughs with them, they just don't really sit well with me at all ^^; while in the case of Keldorn and Cernd, I usually left them to be together with their families (in the case of Cernd the same way that Amaurea did ^^)

In Topic: Challenge #34: NPC's as children

Oh wow, I love this challenge
Galsic's Anomen really did it for me, though, the expression of contempt on Ano's face is just so right (and so wrong for him as a child :() and of course Sammi is my hero as always *goes off to collect every last one into my harddisk XD* little Tiax is particularly cute. Love the idea behind Doxia's pic too.

A quick work with photoshop, Valygar and his mother. I've always imagined that Valygar grew up watching his mother slowly descending into madness. But perhaps, at some points she'd have these bursts of lucidity where she can say that she loved him, and those are the memories that he might try to forget the most but also one that he'd secretly cerish. Just felt that way ^^;

In Topic: Top 5 games

Scipio, that's a really good idea :3 I often played some of the games I did because the guys in the forums were talking (or raving) about it..So that would be a very valuable list indeed ^^

In no particular order :
Baldur's Gate series- meh, what can I say :3 It's the only game I ever played where I realy felt I knew (and obsess at) all the characters and places in a personal way

The Longest Journey- Great story and beautiful, beautiful atmosphere. I loved April's voice so much I downloaded her soundset for my BG pc X3

Arcanum - Fell in love with Arcanum the first time I heard the music and saw the menu. I've always loved the industrial revolution era, all the clothes and ambience, when it got partnered with magic and hacking and slashing (and old guns!) , there was no way I can refuse. Companions are pretty cute, and all the minor details in the surroundings made it all the more fun :3

Vampire the Masquerade : Bloodlines - I wasn't so much a fan of games in modern settings, especially RPGs. However, Bloodlines managed to make me feel the roleplay bit in a perfectly modern setting in a very engrossing way ^^

Icewind Dale- the first Bioware RPG I ever played :D The first thing that struck me about it is how beautiful it is. The music, all that snow and frozen lakes, the great tree of Kuldahar - everything felt just about right in a classical adventuring kind of way. I know it doesn't have a level of party interaction (at all?), but it is a really charming game.

Hm, as for a honorable mention, one game which I still carry fond memories of is Quest for Glory V: Dragonfire. It's the first RPG I've ever played (I think..). I don't even remember the premise of the story anymore, although I still remember there was this inn where we stay in, and everyday the menu would change from one horrible meal to another - until finally the innkeep settled for plain old macaroni and cheese, and it was delicious! . Um, heheh, I'll stop ranting now.., but I really did love that game :D
