Oh wow. Never thought I'd get this amount of replies this fast...
Thanks for the praise! As I said, you're more than welcome to use them if you'd like.
Yes, regarding Cernd's lines, I don't use him often and I had a recollection that he is set on his quest/informed of the child the moment he sets foot in Athkatla... That may of course be only marginally true. An alternative line could be "Had he still gone if he'd had a child?" with a response like "Seems the winds have been whispering about me... The pull was strong, I do not know if children would have mattered. Such thoughts are fascinating but futile to ponder."
Or something to that effect.
Yay! The FORTUNE TELLER! Had plumb gone and forgotten about that... Might be worth a shot too! Anyone happen to know who gets readings, and what they say? Maybe I should boot up ol' BGII and have a look-see.
Will report back!

Well, for starters, an ENDING? After finishing the game I lay sleepless for hours, pondering HOW they could have thought gamers would accept that sorry excuse for a wrap-up. The best comment I have read was to the effect that if a RL DM (gotta love those abbreviations ) tried something like that he would need a +2 ring of protection from face-punching, because his FORMER friends would give him such a whooping. I'm inclined to agree.
Also, it would be nice to be able to choose what characters to bring or not bring - being forcibly settled with Ammon after his acts at the end of Act 2 was an insult. (My character would have gutted him on the spot.) Same goes for all other NPC's, but that was extreme.
And more developing money/time for Act 3. Talk about a great game falling apart very quickly. When said ending followed, nothing short of the immediate incineration of the responsible ones would have quenched my ire. Games should entertain, not ultimately enrage. I haven't played Mask of the Betrayer yet, simply because I do not trust them to not make everything WORSE...

I could not stand Grobnar. As pointed out by a previous poster, he was too much of a Jan Jansen-wannabe, except that Jan was truly amusing and well written. Grobnar bores the protagonist to sleep at their first encounter, and that sets the tone for his performance perfectly.
I also hate Lord Nasher with a passion. A more self-sufficient, stuck-up bastard of a dimwitted ass has not been seen in RPG-dom. at least not in a position of power. I truly wish I could have (as I played a thief) snuck into his chambers while he lay wounded at my keep and planted a dagger in each of his eye sockets. I know these are strong words, but chosen to give some amount of understanding for my dislike of the character. He. Really. Needs. To. Go.

I liked Sand. At least he had flaws that made him more interesting, and cynic as well. Neeshka was pretty well done too. Khelgar was kinda amusing but a bit stereotype.
(Short answers, but old thread. You don't get much for "two cents"...)
