Anyone else having substantial problems with Part 2 of the Bone Hill mod? I wen't to Restenford again, talked to as many people as I could find, but couldn't get a path to Garrotten to open. In the end, I had to CLUAConsole to get there.

I also had a problem in Restenford, in which every time I tried to enter the rectory the whole thing farted and I had a CTD. I also couldn't find Fabio anywhere in town.

Once I magically transported myself to Garrotten, I schlepped aroung town, discovering that attempting to open half the houses caused the game to hang. I eventually killed all the bad guys, found all the evidence, confronted the crazy abbot and then went to Pelltar- who stuck with the initial dialog option and didn't want to send me home. After much frustration, I just CLUAConsoled out.

I used a manual install because I wanted to take out the armour nerfing mod. Other than that, it's the SMM.

Well, something went wrong with my install.  Slowdown again.  It may have been progressive, but I'm not sure.  Became blatantly obvious around the time I went to Larswood to do go through the bandit camp part of the game.  Tried ditching ammo, items, containers, going back to previous saves and replaying, uninstalling improved black talons, and a bit of cussing and vulgar gesturing.  Slowdown still shows up and won't go away.  I'm just going to nuke the whole thing and avoid mega mods like the plague.  

I think I will foolishly try a lightly modded version of bgt and see if I ever get to the end of ToB in a modded game.

Hey Thess, these things can happen, which is why I really prefer to stick closer to erebusant's set of installs. The nerfed armor actually was kinda fun at the start. But seriously, the real good armor that you'll be wearing when you hit lvl 5-6 aren't nerfed at all. So if you had played on, you'll realise that nerfed armor isn't a big deal to spend manual installing. And, you could actually edit the smm-config.xml file using notepad instead of manually installing

Well I was suprised Erebusant and bigmoshi didn't have to run an end biff weidu somewhere.  When I just started the game I could hardly move and I was carrying nothing but a sword and leather armor.  Then my PC would jump 10 feet across the screen.  It sounds as bad as yours, but it actually started right off the bat.  Had to go back and run the biff, then put back in worldmap etc.

Hi Maximus, nopes I didn't need biffing, it ran ok on my laptop & desktop. I managed to find a good round up on biffing by berelinde, and posted it earlier on the thread. Perhaps that may clear things up a little. http://www.shsforums...p...0695&st=40#

Hmm about the red dragon armor appearance I uninstalled refinements checked it again and it the appearance was the same(also it messed up my Worldmap since it was installed after refinements,got an exception error every time I tried opening the map even in a new game but worked it around and eventually fixed it).Can anyone post me the original item file (without the refinements edit) so I drop it in the override folder and see what happens then?

OK Bigmoshi- as usual- a massive help! Turns out the problem was my bag of holding- dumping it means the game goes back to normal speed!
Time to limp off to Nashkel and flog everything in the scrap metal franchise...

OK, doing a manual install this time. I played for about 15 minutes and noticed all the armor had been nerfed and nuked the install in disgust. So, going back through and leaving out a few components, mostly things like nerfed armor, backstabbing and things some rule changes I don't care for. Now to the question.

On the manual install guide under scsII there are a few items you have with an arrow pointing to them saying problem. Should I skip those or leave them in? *EDIT* Duh, never mind. Noticed it in the i-7 part. I fail at reading today.

Ha, that happened to me too. Refinements saddled you with AC penalties wearing armor. Big warning! Had to restore backup and install for two more days.

I also did a manual install following the guide (with newer versions). Just put in another option on the problem components. (ex. instead of dragon casting uninteruptable magic put dragon casts like normal.) Then you get the smarter version w/out the problem. Good luck!

Yah- I also took the armor mod component out- interesting idea, but not realistic. Seems designed more to penalise high Dex characters wearing heavy armour, and the result is that average Dex characters CAN'T wear it. Under this mod, your average dwarf would start taking penalties to hit anything the minute he kitted up! I shudder to think of the consequences on dwarven society as a whole...

Also makes no sense when we ALSO have a mod in the SMM that allows you to stack protection devices to boost AC?

I'd like to see a mod that actually imposes penalties to your maximum Dex BONUS, aka 3rd ed, as a rebalancing idea.

Enuf drivel tho- my problem is something I am uncertain has to do with the Mega-mod. I got lag- big fat clunking sloooooow lag- so bad that I have to use the pause key to actually get much done. It ran fine until I hit DSotSC, then response time southed at that point. I struggled thru manfully to the other end of the mod to see if it was just THAT mod, but the problem remains

I still have Jet in my party- other than her and my items, I don't have any more quests or actual stuff from DSotSC to do anymore. Or is this gonna last until I finish NTotSC? Or will it never end? Heeeeeellp!!!
