Just... don't try to mod the game, and it's workable. I co-admined a NWN2 module for a few months, and it was paaaaaainful. Painful. Painful. Hours and hours of toolseting, crashes, data corruption, baffling just...
Baffleness.
*Stomps away, rambling.*

I'm playing "Defend BioWare" today! That's ridicoulous. Game was released two weeks ago with day 1 DLC and now this? Shit.
I'd suggest you read what the designers had to say over at Kotaku: http://kotaku.com/53...tched-explained
The same explanation of patches also applies to DLC. While the game was released recently, DLC was always a design plan (as it is for a lot of games), and the game itself has been "locked" for a good while.
Honestly, I view that as more than acceptable. What I do not view as acceptable is, say... a game requiring you to pay a few bucks to open a god-damn door. Yes, Bethesda. I'm looking at you.

Well, a group of four people, lead by at least one individual that can sense Darkspawn at range would be ably to skip and slide around a bulked army.
Also, Flemeth's hut is hidden by her magic, as she says.
Anyway, I do think it's something that is a valid, good DLC topic. I mean, if it were a mod, I'd download it. Put some professional developers behind it, why not sell it for the price of a few pieces of chicken, or a quarter of a pizza?

The difficulty is really bouncy, to be honest. I started playing on Nightmare, and quickly had to adjust for some boss fights. This latest playthrough is only Nightmare, and I have to admit... it's not all that hard, so long as you do every single god damn side quest.
But even then, the difficulty is weird. It's not uncommon to go from breezing through dozens of creatures, only to run into a smaller group that just seems to laugh at your wacky antics and blow through your party, while playing some chess on the side. And even THEN, there are times when I've been on Normal or even Easy, reached a boss, had trouble, ended up switching back to Nightmare, and then easily won. So... yeah. Difficulty confuses me, but I'm 90% sure that installing the mod I linked to will make you cry hopelessly every time something spawns.

This does make tactics far more important, especially when you can't rely on a mage or two getting you through a good chunk of the game simply on their own merits. That mod really makes you focus on party balance, and effective tactical decisions in both short-term and long-term situations.
