How does NPC transfer from BG1 to BG2 work? Is whoever is in my party at the end of BG1 the people who appear in the dungeon with me? If so, where do the normal people appear? (Minsc, Jaheira..)

Durlag's Tower?

Started new game with standard BGT install and all the major mods.

I want to travel to Durlag's Tower but I cannot find it on the new worldmap. Can someone fill me in?
