here's a full error message...
An Assertion failed in D:\Torment\Source\baldur\InfGame.cpp at line number 6303
Funny thing is...my D: drive is just a small partition of my HD where I store important files...there is NOTHING related to Torment here, and why should there be a "baldur" folder into a Torment install?!
Anyway the InfGame.cpp file is not the only one called for, as the line 6303 is not the only one mentined o_O''
When it says Assertion failed, it usually means there is a programming problem. In this case, the .cpp is a C++ file and D:\ is probably a drive that the programmer had on his computer, or a network drive were source code was shared.
I had some problems with assertions failed on my box, what I did was uninstall it, and remove all registry keys. I believe that in my case I messed up the install with mods. I ended up installing it on a different computer and then copying it across my network. I run it without it being "installed" so there are no registry keys. I have had a few different "assertion failed" errors. If I leave Near Infinity open I get one, you have to close NI to run PST, and vice versa. I think 787 was one I had a problem with, I never figured out what it was. I did find two mentions to that particular assertion in forums, one Russian. Both other people figured it out for themself without saying what the problem was, so I never found out either.
I realize this is a very late response.
I'm currently have problems myself keeping the game going.
