Adding effects to creatures
01 October 2007 - 10:20 PM
I've been trying to add effects to creatures for a while. After several unsuccesful to do it with weidu, I decided to get it to work at least with DTLCEP, and of course with zero result. I looked how other mods add effects to creatures, and there's no big difference from adding effetcs to itm or spl. Right now I'm trying to add permanent fire shield to great mummy (don't ask why=)). I open the spell with DTLCEP, save damage effect as a separate effect, load mumgre01.cre, add saved effect, change duration to permanent and save it. Still doesn't work. Any clue?
imported items

There are 3 import lists in BG2: they're called import1.2da, import2.2da and import3.2da. One is taken by duergar clan thief, another by some shelf, but I cannot find any reference to import2.2da. Tried to use DTLCEP, NI, searched scripts and dialogs - nothing helps. Does anybody if it is used at all, and if it is - where?
Biffing problem
06 September 2007 - 10:11 PM
edit: the first question was idiotic (why I always understand it right after the posting?). The second still remains, though.
And, since I'm asking about biffing anyway, I've read about batch file that unbiffs all biffs, throwing away redundant files, covered by override, and biffs them again, rebuilding chtin.key. Idobek was doing it, if I'm not mistaken. Was it actually finished?

weidu and dialogF.tlk

how does weidu handle dialogF.tlk when setting/adding strings? Particularly, I'm want to know if dialogF.tlk from BG1 is transferred correctly to dialogF.tlk from BG2 by BGT.
And, is there any way to patch both dialog.tlk and dialogF.tlk simultaneously?

Resistances and damage modifiers
12 August 2007 - 06:32 AM
I don't quite understand what resistances do. I have 2 cases:
wizard's fire shield (red) has 2 effects
- stat: fire res modifier
- stat: reduced damage form magical fire modifier
potion of fire res has only one effect
- stat: stat: fire res modifier
Does it mean that potion of fire resistance does not protect from magical fire at all? Or what?
