A while ago I thought of making a summoned creature that would help with selecting spells for memorization. Basically it would remove some of the first listed spells both from the normal game and from mods so that spells listed later on could be memorized, then replace the earlier spells so that they can be memorized too. I didn't test it out, but it shouldn't be too hard to to. Still very awkward to deal with though. Maybe a spellbook that summons a genie or something...
As for the spell selection screen for learning new spells...I got nothin'. I'd imagine the spell limit is hardcoded, so not even changing the GUI would help.

Iirc, the spell stops time for a certain area, and leaves the caster immune. Anyone outside the timestop area sees everyone but the caster as being frozen. Anyone immune to time stop is therefore just ignoring the magical effect.
If, on the other hand, it's a case of the caster being sped up...I have no idea how to explain away how someone could have immunity. They would have to be able to automatically detect someone entering the time bubble the caster is in and be able to enter it as well.

I tend to play Good characters. LG is probably the most common, since I like monks and paladins.

Hmm, have you tried to CLUA in Valygar's body? That might get you through the door of the Sphere.

I don't play it often, but I do still play it. It may not be the best game mechanically, but the story and the characters are worth the time.
