In Topic: Are you still playing Icewind Dale series?

I played them actually quite recently, and loved them. Probably won't play them again, at least for a long time, since the games were so linear. But for someone who had a hankering for some hack-n-slash action, but wanted said action to have some tactics involved, (and whose pretty much exhausted his efforts in the turn-based realm) it was a good amount of fun and a hell of a well-written story. The dialogue in particular in the second one was pretty entertaining, especially the humourous ones that mock RPG conventions.

The last battle is crappy powerplayer shit.
Ok, actually the second part of the last battle.
Madae just heals herself after drinking from the poisoned pond --> doh

Uh, do you know that you can prevent that from happening?

In Topic: IWDI&IWDII in one game?

An IWDtutu is in the works? Very cool. I assume they'll make it be compatible with Heart of Winter and Luremaster.

But playing it as one game wouldn't work very well because it would end up being inconsistent. Not only was IWD2 originally designed to have you start with level one characters, the story takes place thirty years after IWD1 and treats you as a different set of heroes in the plot.

Too bad the project moving the BG series into IWD2 fell by the wayside. In my opinion, IWD2 was the best incarnation of the Infinity Engine.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Yes, I did use the BGII fixpack. Should I not have, and should I try uninstalling it? I was under the impression that I was supposed to use either that or Baldurdash-Weidu. (I added it before using BGT, which I thought was what I was supposed to do.)

I'll see if replacing the file you gave me works.

EDIT: Yes, I can enter the Inn now. What did I mess up? Thank you for this. After having all the problems with Tutu, I really wasn't looking forward to replaying the beginning of the game for a third time in a row.
