same opinion here:
learn some basic stuff and you will see that it is not that complicated:
- learn how to use your commandline (or console)
- learn how to locate/manage/copy your files (understanding your filesystem-structure)
- learn how to edit some configuration-files (text/batch/tp2-files)
- learn what a batchfile ist
the only other option would be:
Don't use any mods at all:
Install BG1 + BG2 + Addons + patches.
Install and play EasyTutu first and
continue with BG2ToB
And maybe if you are really crazy you can install Baldurdash-Weidu before you play BG2ToB
this is how the world turns:
To drive a car you have to know when and how to use which lever and maybe you have to know where to fill some essential fluids
To use Boards like this you usually learn how to ues BBCode and have to know what an URL is if you want to add images
To use many BG-Mods you have to know some basic stuff about your Windows and the basic structure of the Mods

I'm just curious if any of you have played both of these and what your thoughts are between the two. I haven't tried Tutu yet but have played through BGT a couple of times.
I played Tutu once, everything was nice, i only encountered 1 bug with Tutu itself:
- some weird problem where the Ulgoths Beard Area would not show on my map and i had to CLUA me there.
I installed lots of smaller and larger mods and esp. the larger once mad touble:
- Sirens Call: quests where not avaialbe
- Secret of Bonehill: broken grafix everywhere
- some item upgrade mod: missing Inventory-Icons
- and some other small bugs
- Herbs and Poitions installed but nowhere to find (should be in Nashkell)
But i could play the game fine and even if the larger mods did not work for me the whole BG1-Storyline was perfectly playable. I just skipped the SoB and SirensCall Parts.
I want to try BGT next (year ) and hope that Bonehill, Sirens Call or some other large Mods will work this time.
In Topic: Mods and more (DSotSC 1.60 or 1.00 ?)

But i want to play BG1 with BG2 Engine and i already played BG1 several times (without AddOn). It doesn't matter if i know what has been changed. If a modder i.e. thinks "with this mod the roleplaying makes more sense" then i dont need to know how it "didnt make sense" before. I just like to play the "better" modded Version of the game and enjoy it. Same goes for "fun"... i don't wanna know what made "less fun" before.
I know BG1 well and would like to play it with an new Mod and some more features... and that would be BG2-Engine , DSotSC, and i.e. Ease of Use.
I now have 2 choices:
a) BGT+Mods
b) BG1tutu+Mods
which one would you choose in my case ?
Installation for a):
- BG1 + BG2 + addons + patches
- BGT (nonWeidu ?)
- DSotSC 1.60
- Baldurdash Weidu
- Ease of Use
Installation for b):
- BG1 + BG2 + addons + patches
- BG1Tutu
- DSotSC (tutuversion ?)
- Baldurdash Weidu
- Ease of Use
