In Topic: What party do you plan to take along with Chrysta?

No plans - depends who I feel like at the time. All I can really say is that it won't be an evil PC and there won't be any evil NPCs. I never play with either. If I had to guess it would be a PC that can melee up front, two BioWares + Imoen later, Chrysta and whatever other mod NPC looks good at the time.

I'm not qualified to answer you in my own words, but I can refer you to this Romance Guide. The guide and your continued study of others' romances should get you pretty far along in your modding quest. :D

Mabnuln, I'd encourage you to take a look at the excellent tutorials on this site and others. You may find that the technical side of modding is not so beyond you afterall. There are wonderful people here, and on other boards, who will help with questions and advice as well.

Even if afterwards you still believe it's beyond your capabilites, you'll get an education on the limits and requirements of NPC modding. This will help you to write your dialogues in a way that makes it easy for the modder to code. If you came back and said you have X number of banter, interjection, and romance dialogue all written up I think you'd get some interest. If they like your writing.

As it is, I'd guess that those who have the skill and experience to code the mod already have a project (or many) going, with ideas of their own for future mods. I think you need to tempt such people with more than an idea.

Best of luck!

Actually, that would not be the main problem.  It is fantasy, not Sci-fi.  In 2E D&D. clone is a ninth level Necromancy spell that almost acts as a ressurect, and then she was both tortured and remade by the bastard.  ...

True, it's fantasy and 2E. You'd have to explain how he got the cubic inch of flesh from Ellisime for each of the many clones. Maybe Irenicus had a lock of her hair and developed an improved spell that only needed one strand of hair per clone? Then there's the stereotypical cloning tanks ... perhaps they were used instead to keep the numerous clones in stasis, so he could bring one out at a time for his "attentions".

It could be made to work. :D

Though Chrystia is a nearly identical concept, making my ideas rather moot, it does NOT answer the main question.  Heh.  Namely- why would charname, if they have high cha/int/wis, be unable to NOT kill the clone?

From my very first BG2 game I disliked having to have my PC kill that clone. She's an abused innocent and I always wished there was some way to save her. The idea of making her a joinable NPC is not a new one. Coincidentally, I was thinking about the possibilities just recently. But, for several reasons, I decided it wouldn't work well. At least, not for my tastes.

One of my reasons against the clone for an NPC is that she *is* a clone. Contrary to bad sci-fi, clones do not (in theory) come out of the tank with personality, skills, and language. Obviously Irenicus had been teaching this particular clone for some time, for she could speak. But otherwise I can't see that she'd be much more than a child -- a very abused one -- in a grown-up's body. Hardly suitable for adventuring. (In my opinion, of course.)

But ... if you can get past the conceptual difficulties, it's not a bad idea. I would certainly take a look if someone made the mod.
