Just restarting the BWS("Start BiG World Setup - Update If Needed.vbs") -file does the heavy lifting part, as it has an option to restore the base game... as you made the backup, dah.<br />
Then for example, you should read what's offered to you in the customization options in the component choices for each mod. There's thousands of them, I am sure you'll find about 50% that you won't like, if you rationally think of them. After all, you will most optimistically be needing 20 to 35 NPCs, not the 200 that the BWS offers. The 15 of which are just random bafoons you opted in to have them.</p></blockquote>
I see...I'll take a look at it when I get home. I want this thing to work so badly.

Korvas, you are trying to use the BWS's legacy edition of the BWP ("Baldur's Gate 2/BiG World Project(BWP) Install.bat only), aka the one mode that will likely pull all the crap with it as the .bat is not really equipped to handle the edits you do in the install, let alone the versions changes mods have gotten during the Leonardo's absence (1.5 years.)<br />
While you should be using the above posts highlighted actual BWS mode "B..G..2/B..G..T..(BGT) Customization" to get a better chance of actually getting what you ordered. And not use that many mods. Cause ...</p></blockquote>

Hmm, the BWS needs a clean BG2 install to one directory, while the BG1 is in another directory.. it WILL NEVER move a thing between them ... it can copy, but that's not a move.
Depending on the picks in the BWS, the interface in the BG2 game can show you that it has no option to start the game in the "BG1 portion" of the game, but if the BGT is installed, it does so using the default start. So the interface might not have the
If you mean extract via the move, then yes, the BWS does that, and you can follow the install via the weidu.log.
So ...Finally, I went to install a mod and quickly found that while BWM had moved all of the mod content to the main game folder of BGII, none of the mods were actually installed, with every single one that I manually started offering to allow for a straight installation rather than a Re-installation.This would tell me that something went wrong and it stopped the actual install before any of them were actually started... and by the way you didn't even note that thew BWS had installed a thing... leading to me to believe that it error-ed out at a point.
So go back, make a reinstall of a clean BG2 game, by first uninstalling the BG2 game and CLEANSING the game directory so it doesn't exist anymore as not doing that can cause things to go wrong. Then after reinstall, install of the patch, start the BWS again direct it to this new game, and take as many pictures as you can from each of the BWS windows as possible... and present them here, somehow. A .zip is a way to go, but if you can, upload the pictures offsite and use the img tags to show them in the forum. Aka:[img=http:// -adress]
Erhm, you are using this option in your setup:
Okay, I did what you asked, I reinstalled BG2 and ToB from the ground up and then after that retried the install for BWP. This time I chose a different install option from the last attempt, which definitely got me further along, as now the game opens and runs well and I get as far as the character creation screen, but again, I'm encountering a problem. When I went on to load chapter one, ToBex crashed the game because something was apparently missing. I took a ton of screen shots and provided the logs for BWP in an archive that I loaded to Mega

If you could help me figure out what went wrong and what needs to be fixed, I'd greatly appreciate it.

..so I had to physically modify the code for the Bat file so it would know exactly where to look,....i'm desperate now.Seems like. If you edit a .bat, then you aren't doing it correctly, as you should just start the .vbs and let it do everything for you. You are on Windows... correct.
Have you read this and thus done everything in it, the way it is said to be done there. And don't be the idiot and think that the BWS has gotten any better about mod compatibility, if it says it's a higher compatibility error rate, then don't install it.
That's probably it for now... that and you know that the BG(1)EE(SotDs) only works with BG2EE. While the BG1(+TotSC) only works with the non-BG2(ToB) game... when trying to make a combo(EE's into EET/ while non-EE's into BGT).
This is where I started, I am installing the BiG World Mod on an original copy of Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II with Tales of the Sword Coast and The throne of Bhaal. When I started, I downloaded this installer helper and after some fiddling told it to install maximized content, even going so far as to individually pick out the high problem mods and removing them. The installer then downloaded nearly all of the mods, with the ones it couldn't get individually downloaded by me and at first manually loaded into the installer when it asked where they were, and then later moved directly into the mods folder for easy access. The installer then went through its whole process after this, with only a few errors which I had skipped so as to not cause major problems for the game. Once it was all done, I loaded Baldur's gate II and tried to start a new game in BG1, but it had no option for that, then I tried starting BG1, and it also had no extended option and was using the same engine as before. Finally, I went to install a mod and quickly found that while BWM had moved all of the mod content to the main game folder of BGII, none of the mods were actually installed, with every single one that I manually started offering to allow for a straight installation rather than a Re-installation.
