The hell with it, I'm reinstalling. Why wait let those hours waiting for an answer go to waste, I figured. :P

Wish me luck.

I'd just like to make clear that I'd like to *avoid* reinstalling BG2 and all its mods a third time. It's time consuming and frankly at this point not worth the trouble.

I assure you I used a custom installation directory. An emulated C:\BG2 - SoA\.

Yes, I use bgmain.exe. No caps, as the Linux guide instructed to use of Tolower. I use Wine, yes. Not Cedega.

So anyway, I'm thinking there is something wrong with the TOB patch? It did install its files in the correct directory, hence the TOB readme, but for some reason it didn't work out?

I should point out that the same thing probably happened during the 1st installation. This is my second one and I redownloaded the TOB patch for it as well. There is something funny at work here.

Alright this is.. weird. I know I installed the TOB patch and the TOB readme in the main directory says 26498, which proves me right.. BUT the version number in the options menu says (2.5)26461.

There is no way that can be right?

Is the Linux, as in through Wine, in which case the game actually is the Windows OS... kinda.

Now, when you start a game or a load a save game, yes you need to be playing the game, not in the non started menu, open up the Options menu and read the version number... it should be something to 2.5.*****, what are the numbers on that ***** ?

Now, as you are on Windows ... ironic right... where did you install the game to ? Always avoid the default install folder and install games to C:\Games\ sub-folders ! Or which ever your language the "Games" translates to, unless it features a non-ansi alphabets.

And know that the SoA patch is not needed as the ToB game comes with it and it only needs the official ToB patch.

As I said I installed the game correctly. Patches, version numbers, it all works out. Installation directory is also something did the correct way. Yet still, problems. Somehow.
