I wanted to propose an addition to the Druid kit the Hive Master - I'm really not even sure if this is the forum to do so. I wanted to start off by saying THANK YOU for creating such a kit. It's a pleasure to play and I feel it gives druids a more viable roll in a party setting.
Largely I feel like a standard druid or the vanilla kits really don't do much to improve the state of the druid, they don't have the AC or Thac0 for a frontline fighter and do not have the firepower of a mage. They certainly do not have the healing / offensive / specialized damage vs undead that clerics can tote.
My proposed addition:
Perhaps adding an 'endgame' form just like the forms before it at incremental levels. This would be specifically for end game, so I'm thinking level 25-30 - really giving the class a chance to keep up with the other classes and give a player something to strive for. Have this end transformation be that of a dryder-esque type of model (if one even exists!); a hybrid spider/human which allows the druid the ability to cast their priest spells. This form would have no additional changes (I.E. additional dex/str/poision damage/increased thac0) only the ability to now cast their spells.
Do you think this would be viable? Would it be too difficult to implement? Would it be too overpowered?
Once again, thank you for this wonderful pack of Kits - it really brings a new interesting level to an already excellent game.
