thanks

played through the first area of baldurs gate one, and very playable

only issues ive noticed are

1) the location markers on the area map display lines of dialog, as opposed to the location descriptions
2) all fires in the game seem to be corrupted
3) when i got to the second area i walked off the map to the south then saw a bg2 map, clicked on one of the athkatla areas, waukeens prominade i think, and the game crashed

assuming none of these are critical errors or unlikely to be fixed by a reinstall ill be quite happy to play through assuming the area transitions doesnt become a jump to area with the clua console deal :)

put it this way, i was playing to check it was working before i patched it and wound up playing through candlekeep and forgetting about the patching until i read ascention64's post :)

what a wonder, turns out when i made everything look like the

"what your game folder should look like" thread and the install checker wanted it to that the game installed cleanly

hopefully i dont run into any drama with NeJ once i get to irenicus' dungeon as i installed all of that

havnt installed the s and h patch yet and if anything else should be installed before playing would be great if someone could point me in the right direction

ive used various weidu mods before but will probably go a bit liter on those this time around

all up around 2 hours to install everything starting from bg1 already being in c:\baldur and very happy :)

any trick to getting dsotsc and bonehill to work with bp-bgt-nej or should it be a fairly typical weidu install?

also i plan on removing a few of the larger uneeded files from the SoA directory then making a zip of my entire install, so i can play with some things over the top without worrying so much about reinstalling if it goes wrong. hard drive space isnt an issue.

only suggestion i have to ammend to the guides is the file name of the mark3 bgt 660meg thing, as a new user lacking comprehension skills that was the only real place i could have gone wrong

(apart from trying to leave out NeJ and thats entirely a user error)

thanks, i maybe got mixed up with the tutu thing

had the impression that the reason to install bg1 as well was it converted on the fly

but this is probably a better solution as i got the impression from just playing a bit of bg1 that things would be too small if converted directly across due to optimisation for differant native resolutions

due to the delights of dialup i will be a little while but all files apart from the main one should be down now, ie nej weidu version

also got bonehill and dsotsc, was thinking about getting ctb as well but will pass on that since it seems to introduce a bit of instability into most peoples installs from what i have read on here

Shadowtech's BP-BGT--NEJ install guide

confirms that i need the large bgt file

various other info but i think once ive got the 2 files i think i need i will try the autoinstaller first then worry about that stuff

also you may be interisted to know that although im in the process of collecting various pieces for morrowind which ive never played before im still anticipating the big picture  and add ons a lot more

going to try bonehill, dark side of the sword coast and various other stuff once i get the main thing working :)

using the WHAT YOUR GAME FOLDER SHOULD LOOK LIKE, for installing BP-BGT-NEJ thread

missing the bgt3 folder again

...SoA\KEYFile for patched....
didnt get to this point before, hopefully it wont be a problem

need the weidu nej file again

so seem to be on the right track there
