I remember this. Jaheira should be able to use the item, but can't because IR's Druid's Can't Wear Helmets component thinks it's a helmet. I coded a fix for it but think I must have just forgotten to add it to the hotfixes - it's already included in my local copy.

If you'd like to change this in your game, you can alter the item file to make it usable by druids and fighter/druids. Grab Near Infinity (attached at the bottom of the first post), open it up, and browse to the file DSCDRUID.ITM. Click on the Edit tab, then click on the field titled "Unusable by" - it should be the seventh or so field from the start of the file. Uncheck the Fighter and Fighter/Druid boxes. These changes won't be saved until you attempt to exit or browse to a different file, then it will ask if you want to save changes to the file.
