Install order? Help for a befuddled player...

30 November 2007 - 09:23 PM

Okay, I've been trying to figure this out for about a week now, but I haven't been able to figure out exactly what I need to do; there's so many outdated install guides and references to old files that I'm just absolutely confused - I know there's a couple special things I need to do, but almost every link in the readmes I've found are broken when they refer to files or forums. Whatever I'm doing is clearly wrong, because the game will not run.

This is the list of mods and the order, as I understand it, I'm roughly to install it in.

BG2 fixpack v4

SoS v1.11
TDD v1.11
CtB v1.8

Baldur's Gate Trilogy v1.05

Dark Side of the Sword Coast
Northern Tales of the Sword Coast
Secret of Bonehill v2.05
Lure of Sirine's Call

BGT NPC Pack v15
One Pixel Productions
Underrepresented Weapons
Weimer's Ascension
Solaufein
Kelsey SoA 2.1
Kelsey ToB 2.2
Valen
Xan for BG2
Kivan and D.
(other NPCs?)

Unfinished Business
Weimer's Item Upgrade
Banter Pack
Level 1 NPCs
Crossmod Banter

Big Picture v177
- Divine Remix
- Redemption

BGT Tweaks
- Ding0's Quest Pack
BG2 Tweaks v3
BP-BGT Worldmap v6.3

Setup-GUI (selecting BGT gui)

BGT and multiplayer?

26 November 2007 - 04:01 PM

Hi,

Sort of complicated question...

I've successfully installed, on two computers, the Baldur's Gate Trilogy with Tortured Souls, Check the Bodies, Ascension, and a few smaller mods. I spent a couple hours checking for known conflicts and installation order, and as far as I know I didn't do things that resulted in blatant conflicts - I didn't install improved Illasera, I didn't install anything with faster cutscenes, I didn't install anything that nerfed anything, I installed the Worldmap second to last, and I did the GUI thing using a BGT gui. And yes, everything was patched and my BG1 was a full, fresh install.

So, I went to multiplayer on both computers, and everything works fine, except when we go to leave the wilderness area outside of Candlekeep. At first, it was just the second computer that crashed, then we both worked fine; I found out the worldmap installs were different, and uninstalled and reinstalled the worldmap, followed by the gui, on both computers, so that they were identical. Now both computers are crashing, even on a new game, at the same spot, with an error message that seems to be referring to map problems.

What can I do to try to fix this, or is this referring to a known or obvious problem? I'm almost positive it's a conflict of mods, but I'm not sure which ones to check.

If I have to I'll uninstall everything and reinstall and make SURE everything's identical, but is that certain to work?

Thanks,

~V~
