In Topic: Advice on what mods to play

A little update for those who are Interested. I've finished chapter 1 2 and 3 and I've visited multiple areas with NO crashes and only 1 bug(bjornin disappearing from the jovial juggler) so you guys(modders and such) have done an awesome job. The only mod I did not like so far is the BG1 npc mod, I preferred the NPC's the way they were.

ahh curse you...I forgot who Bel was and started reading about him on the forgotten realms wiki...3 hours later I'm still reading the wiki because I keep finding interesting articles!

Thanks for the help everyone, I restored a back-up and reinstalled a few mods(didn't install the darkest day this time, had to re-roll because i had a ' Lord' paladin in te previous save), it's working fine now. There's only one thing that bothers me; there's alot of NPC' s that have their audio in German, has anyone ever had this problem before?

If not, it doesn't matter that much, i'm glad I can play!

The game takes about 4 minutes to start up though ...

That's because you haven't biffed the game resources. I would use this to do that. It will take some time to install though(more than 5 minutes).

Unfortunately you can't really uninstall specific mods from the stack, you have to restore a back up and reinstall the mods you do want.

Actually if he followed the instructions I gave, he can up to the Baldur's Gate Mini Quests and Encounters, as the BGT cannot be uninstalled(nor the SOS) because it biffs the files in the old way, unlike the Gen_Bif... but everything else can.

Thanks I will do that tonight. I already tuned down ALL my settings to the lowest, but the game was still slow, even though my specs aren't bad. I'll try doing this first, and if that doesn't improve performance i'll carefully start deinstalling some mods. As Jarno said, people have to learn from their mistakes..fortunately i'm in IT so I might learn a bit quicker!
