Fellow BG2 players, i have spent quite a bit of time thinking about my problem with dialogues. I have come to a small list of causes, that i'd like to share.

One idea is that GLOBALS are not working, My opinion is because they are not there to work. Somehow they got erased, deleted or just simply vanished into the ether. The how of it, i don't have a clue.

My second idea is for some reason, long ago, i put BG2 onto the C: drive when i should not have. I can't remember why, but there it is.

I used Windows 10 at the time i installed BG2 onto the C; drive and it was a problem from day 1. Why i didn't remove it, i can no longer remember. I can only say that the C; drive was a really bad idea.

I reinstalled from the original discs onto the D; drive. I started up a stripped down version of the game and have had absolutely no problems with anything. Admittedly, a stripped down version doesn't have a whole lot to go wrong, but then i am simply looking for anything that stands out. So far so good. When i finish this particular run through i intend on using a mega install. Lets see what happens then.

Which file inside the archive? I haven't got a clue. The small report i got wasn't specific about why it rejected the download. The report was straight forward, "it has detected a virus and is stopping the download". That was the sum total of it.

Again, at one point in time i was able to download from GitHub, but something changed with GitHub and i am having nothing but problems with it. I stopped using Norton years ago and i haven't had any problems with MS10. (Yes i know that MS has stopped supporting MS10)

I don't use an AV program per se, i use whatever comes with MS 10. I read somewhere that when Norton was run side by side with MS 10, MS caught more viruses then Norton. With that in mind i stopped my subscription with Norton and i haven't had any problems, except for GitHub.

I don't know what the deal with GitHub is, but i have nothing but problems downloading anything from there.

Your question about which file specifically, ARP 10.1 to be specific. There are others, but i can't remember their names. I only use SHS download or the website itself to download anymore. I say anymore, because at one time i was able to download from GitHub without problem. Somewhere along the line, that changed. Don't know how or when that happened.

Again after using the BWP Fixpack, you have the first 5 parts in German;

1) Detectable spell (Required)

2) Secret of the Troll Cave

3) Smell of the Black Lotus

4) Destination of an Undead

5) Concerns of a Spellcaster

The first 5 are in German, however the last file - Request of a Noble Lady, for all intents does not exist. Do not install it, it is nothing but question marks. If you keep a copy of the mod in Japanese, you might find someone that could translate it, MAYBE.

What i did was translate all of the German that i could and just overwrote the .tra file. In MediaFire, the TS25 mod file is compressed, the folder that says german is not. That folder contains 2 .tra files that are in English. After you install and fixpack, just open the folder for TS25, find the tra folder and overwrite the folder that says german with the folder i left at MediaFire. I believe that i told it to use German when i installed. You'll find a folder in there that says English, but it is empty. At least i think so. My folder has that folder, but i might have thought to use it for my translation, and then changed my mind and never deleted the English folder.

I just reviewed what i wrote and i hope you can make sense of it, i'm not sure i can. To continue, if you want some tips on the mod i have some notes that can help.
