Ok, just found out (thanks for clarifying this... really....) that gpedit.msc is *not* available in home edition. If I had known that, I would have saved myself a couple days of looking here and tried again.

So, I can't get the thing to actually work it seems?

I'm wondering just how reliable the most recent version of BWP is atm; are there plans to update the documentation?

This all comes down to efficiency, and weather or not you wish to actually have a fully documented game, or a game that actually works! ... with the latest updates and all that...
But as you should use the BWS, you need not to even read the mod by mod documentation ...

The documentation will be updated sometime in the near future... or at least in this century.
What comes to the fixes and their version compatibility, they actually work on all of them, as they are applied the smart way, by first checking if the exact required lines are there and they look like they are supposed and only then it's applied, not with "let's overwrite this file and not even check any of it's content".

I've recently tried to use this to play a giant walkthrough, and cannot get the trimpack patch.exe to work. I use nod32 and have it disabled as well as the UAC disabled in a windows 7 home OS. Any ideas?

Install folder ? And you also need to disable the PCA to even patch the game on the 64b OS. Read the second answer here...

My install folder is megamod/blah blah

I can't get gpedit.msc to run, it says it does not exist.
