Viconia/Valygar game-breaking bug

Hi.

 

Here's how it is. I'm well deep into the game (underdark).

 

Viconia turns to Valygar, but the conversation doesn't fire up. She stops doing whatever she's doing once every 2 seconds and turns to him. She can barely move, since she cancels all actions once every 1-2 seconds.

 

Killing him or her helps temporarily and the game is playable while at least one of them is dead. After I ress them both, the bug immediately reoccurs and the game becomes unplayable again.

 

(I'm not sure whether it's IEP or banter pack's bug)

 

How can I resolve this and help you fix it?


custom font - need some help

Hi! I'm interested in making a mod for a custom font for BG2EE. Putting "normal.bam" in the override folder doesn't work anymore, so I'm looking for a new way.

 

In baldur.ini there are interesting lines

 

'Fonts', 'ko_KR', 'UNBOM',
'Fonts', 'zh_CN', 'SIMSUN',
'Fonts', 'ja_JP', 'MSGOTHIC',
'Fonts', 'ru_RU', 'PERMIAN',
'Fonts', 'uk_UA', 'PERMIAN',

 

In the multi-language version of the game, there are files such as ...... Gate Enhanced Edition/lang/ja_JP/fonts/MSGOTHIC.bmp (4.0M)

Unfortunately I don't have a multi-language version.

 

Adding a line to baldur.ini     'Fonts',    'en_US',    'TEST',   does the trick in changing the font the game uses. I made an empty file and put it in /lang/en_US/fonts/TEST.bmp and it changed all the letters to empty spaces in game. So this does work. Unfortunately I can't imagine what the proper structure of such a bmp file should be. Does anyone have a multi-language version? I need to take a look at those .bmp files.


Bigger fonts for Baldur's Gate

Hi. This is a fonts mod for Baldur's Gate that I made for myself and I'd be happy if somebody else enjoyed it as well. I suppose it'll work for other IE games as well.

As you know, there are already 2 bigger font mods out there. Not to belittle the authors' efforts at all, but I never felt quite satisfied with them for 2 reasons:
1) They are way too big for my taste
2) They don't have the BG2/fantasy spirit in them (in my opinion anyway), stylistically speaking.

So I set off on a quest to find a font that would look like BG's original one and after days of font-hunting I ended up finding one that I truly like. It has some interesting features that are akin in style to those found in the BG font.

So, enough with the preamble! Now you can chose from 3 fonts and take whichever you like most. Here's a comparison:

Installation: Courtesy of ljbo  this is now a WeiDU-based mod, so just download Baldurs-Gate-Bigger-Fonts-Weidu.zip, unzip the contents into your BG2 directory and run the executable file.

 

In case you want to improve something or convert it to some other code page and whatnot, I've also included the .otf files in Baldurs-Gate-Bigger-Fonts-Non-Weidu.zip.

Mod installation order AND Npc question

Hey. I haven't been at it for years and I wanted to give all those new mods a try. I've read the readme files thoroughly, but just in case I got it wrong...

 

Please have a look at my install order and see if it's okay. I wouldn't want to restart my whole game cause I got it wrong somewhere (as it already happened to me in the past). I have a GOG version of BG2

 

I'm really unsure about Unfinished Business, but it says there's a compatibility problem with ease-of-use, which is now tweak pack, so it should be after it. Right?

If Edwin joins my party and I make him into a fighter/mage in Shadowkeeper, will he be able to level up as a fighter/mage and get the correct amount of HP and THAC0 or will it all be screwed up?
