In Topic: Multiplayer petrification bug

03 July 2011 - 09:29 AM

My guess is that petrification somehow is trying to switch control from client to server when there is a successful hit with TB#PETRI.SPL. But it fails and for some reason petrifies everyone regadles of their protection status.

The reason for the control switch should be that the character is actually auto removed from the party up on petrification...
The protection spells only work when they know what to protect against... this TB#PETRI.SPL is a new spell from a mod, so.

Well... I searched through protection spell and it protects against TB#PETRI.SPL.

Jarno do you happen to know a walkaround to this problem? I mean if this spell is alien to BG, how can I make it "not alien"?

If this is very difficult, I'm thinking about replacing TB#PETRI.SPL effects with different ones, but the question is how will protection items/spells react to this. Will I be able to defend against this spell?

Jarno thanks for the answer btw. :)

Hello Ascension64!

I'll continue a thing that Frustrated7 started about container's bug.

This bug occures in multiplayer on the client side. This bug occures when I speak to someone who has a store.

ASSERTION FAILED! Return Address: 0x6444E0 File: CStore.cpp Line: 241 Expression: pData != NULL Message: (null)

This bug stopped when I set
Optimise Bag Search Code=0
in TobExCore.ini.
So it's definitely TobEx issue.

I hope this information is helpful. :)

In Topic: Restarting BWP installation

21 June 2011 - 07:36 AM

Can someone tell me if anything could be done, or should I just restart BWP from scratch?

3.7 Now, if you didn't do as you were told on the US code page thing and your install gets stopped...
...and you don't want to restart the whole BiG World Setup, do alike this poster did. Posted Image

Fastly Answered Questions for Megamods... :D

Ah, thank you Jarno, you are very helpful and fast to lend a hand as always :)
I know I didn't search a lot on this one, but installing IA with 1251 code table is really frustrating.

Here is a glimpse of why I'm grambling

If I wasn't familiar with english installation I shurely would've messed a lot(actually I did anyway, hehe :)). And I even can't check some installation steps. Well as "they" say "you have to suffer for beauty" :)

The kit description normally says they can't wear bracers or gauntlets. IR removes the restriction on wearing bracers (and gloves, etc.), but leaves the restriction on gauntlets. Currently, only vanilla bracers are affected, but support for changing mod-added bracers has been added for v3.

I think it should be added for ballance reason. Now that there are a lot of items that give you + to AC. Even in BG where I was pure Kensai with Tactics installation my char didn't have any problems, well except for Durlag's tower and Sarevok =)

well, afaik kensai can only wear armor bracers (most of them anyway), which i don't really mind.

how exactly do you edit them? with near infinity?
oh boy, i have no idea how that works.

well, i guess there's a first for everything...

Hmm in kit it is stated that Kensai cannot wear gauntlets. Also Kensage(Kensai/Mage) is so powerfull that he doesn't need any bracers. And Kensai/Thief can wear anything after he get HLA. In any case it's easy to play Kensai even with Tactics installation.

Yes I modified with NI, it's the best and most userfriendly than any other editors I used so far. Though Shadow Keeper is better to edit saves because of the GUI. Just make a backup and give NI a try. it's not that difficult. Also almost all files copy themselves to override after editing. So if you messed up something, you can just go to the override folder and delete corrupted file and it'll return to its default state. Though it's better to use a backup anyway, just in case.
