Easy, just install the TobEx component #1300 ...
Well, I installed that component as well as every component which related to the .ini setting which was enabled. So everything except for the opcode fix #1100, and it still crashes with that same error message when selecting the Class and it does it always, independent of race and class.
In the Big World 9.3 document, I checked it and it stated that #1300 was not installed by default yet the TobEx.ini enables the check for it which is what causes the blank Race selection. Is there a better way to be going about installing all of these mods than what BWS is doing, such as using BWS as the main mechanism for installation while using another method or mechanism for refinement? I was of the understanding that using BWS would give me a working installation of the mods selected(as long as they are compatible and you followed instructions), this doesn't appear to be the case.
Is there something I should have done that I did not do, am I missing something?
EDIT: An important revision to my statements. While I believe TobEx is the cause of the crash, for BGMAIN.exe does not crash when it is not used, it is not TobEx in and of itself that crashes, but BGMAIN.exe which is crashing. It's giving me, "the instruction in this memory location referenced another location in memory and the referenced memory location could not be read" paraphrasing of course.
EDIT AGAIN: I just so happened to stumble across this post in reading the Tobex thread, It was just posted today.
With a fully clean install of BG2+TOB with the patch, I install tobex and it starts up fine. When I click on a class in the selection screen though, the game just crashes. No errors in the log.
Is this because of 64bit windows?
It's because that version 0008 beta isn't working properly because of bad programming. You should be able to back-download version 0007 from the same place (scroll down a bit further in the download page for TobEx).
Ascension suggested to get 0007 beta which can be found here for anyone else that might so happen to have this same problem and stumble upon this post. Thank's Jarno for your reply, I noticed you respond to a lot of us here that have problems and tend to be quite patient with us, it is very much appreciated.
