the problem is solved. I set the non- unicode codepage to english and reinstall BWP-standard version, it works perfectly now.
ps. aurora and IA are both installed too.

you might have to reinstall both aurora and infinity animation again after setting the code page to english, since according to Miloch, some files might not be installed correctly under the chinese code page.

Thanks for the reply, but......i don't know how to "set the code page to english", can you teach me a bit?

I think the utility works, but another problem occured:

I now can get in to Nashkel, but walk less than 30 seconds, the screen just tun black and kind shrink to 3/4 of original size( means game screen shrink and i can see my desktop picture) and the back ground music keeps playing( but stuck at certain point and repeat it). I thought it might be my widescreen set up wrong, so i reinstalled the widescreen mod
which just makes it worse, now i can't load my game, the screen just turn black half way of loading the game.

Anyway i can fix this without reinstall the whole BWP again? ( I have done it 3 times!!!)

I am using the simplified chinese version of windows XP, so this could be the cause of the problem?

Hello, my game crashed as well.

I currently have windows xp and BWP 8.3(Standard version)installed.

After it crashed, i have a small window showed something "......005ca8a8."(showed a small problem window on my screen).
i googled it and found "iaaurfix-v3" might be able to solve this problem, after successfulli installed it, still crashed.

Before i installed "iaaurfix-v3", i started a new game from BGII-SoA,i finished Irenicus's dungeon and went up to the ground, done with the chapter intro, it crashed to desktop and showed the same problem window like above. However, "iaaurfix-v3" did solve the problem this time. so i went back to Nashkel, still not working.

I tried to activate chapter3 by go to the map right next to Nashkel(forgot the name of the map, sorry), chapter 3 intro done well, and went to Nashkel mine, still run well, then went to Nashkel, somehow i could get in the map, but it crashed randomly either walking around or try to leave the area to world map.

Please help!!! Thank you very much.
