Hi ghostdog, I gave it another shot with the updated version and have not encountered any crashes so far. I tried all mouse actions and walked around a bit inside the Mortuary. Many thanks for the update - it is really appreciated because I think this particular resolution is very well suited for the game!

No discoveries from my side. I have reinstalled the game several times (2 CD version) and not added any mods other than the 1280x720 widescreen and the UI. It works if I don't install the UI mod, but also if I uninstall it and just keep the widescreen. Very strange. Since the other resolutions works, I have been using 1280x1024 - it looks good!

Yes, so far the issue has occurred only when using 1280x720 resolution. 1280x768 and 1280x1024 works fine. So far I have not been able to try 1280x800 because my video card drivers do not support that resolution in Windows XP. But it should be easy to fix, so I'll see if I can try it aswell.
I followed the given installation procedure and had no problems there. For every test, I have started a new game.

Thank you for the advise regarding the cursor file! Unfortunately it did not help. I tried installing all other mods found here except for the UI mod and it seems to be a problem with this particular mod.

It seems to be the exact same problem as kayekatarn is experiencing. The game will crash if I manually choose to attack or start a dialogue, not if the game automatically chooses the dialogue cursor upon selecting a creature. I can look at things, pick up items, loot for items, open up character screen and inventory screen - no problems there.

I just made another discovery here. I tried installing the widescreen mod using 1280x1024 resolution, then installing the UI mod 1.0. That helped. Then I changed to UI mod 1.2 using the same resolution and it still works. This points in the directon if this being a problem with the new supported resolution 1280x720.

Edit: I also tried 1280x768 and there are no problems with that resolution. My video card does for some reason not support 1280x800 so I cannot try that.

First off allow me to thank you for your exhaustive, timely and most impressive work on this excellent game. When I found I could play it again after so long with all this new stuff I was quite happy as you might imagine :)

Regrettably I seem to have run into a bug that I haven't managed to find the answer to on these forums (or maybe I'm not putting in the search keywords right).

I've done the proper full install with my 2CD version, installed the widescreen mod, ui fix mod, fixpack, tweakmod and unfinished business with no errors. The game started up and looks and runs fine, with no problems...

Until I try to bash a locked chest or talk to Morte. Then I get an immediate CTD. Upon experimenting I found this seems to happen anytime I do something to change the cursor graphic (say, typing 'a' to turn it into that axe attack icon, or use the radial menu to turn my cursor into a dialogue box), then when I click anywhere on the screen, CTD.

Would greatly appreciate any help on this... thanks!

I seem to have encountered the same problem as you. If I manually change the cursor to i.e. attack or dialogue, the game will crash as soon as I click on something. However, the game will not crash if the cursor is automatically choosing dialogue when selecting a creature. Have you tried uninstalling only the UI mod? I have tried all the other mods and they seem to work fine. I created a thread under PS:T UI mod for trying to solve this: http://www.shsforums...s...571&t=41439
