Topics I've Started

Mar and his Box

06 August 2009 - 10:28 AM

After a hiatus of several weeks from Planescape Torment as a result of various real life concerns, I've finally returned to my current game and am in the process of finishing up all loose ends prior to proceeding to Ravel's Maze. Checking my Journal, I found to my surprise that the quest concerning the cursed Box provided to the protagonist by Mar was not actually resolved, as I had assumed it had been when I had the Box neutralized. Instead, the quest prompts me to seek out and speak to Mar regarding the matter. I subsequently combed through the Hive for him, but to no avail. Checking a walkthrough, I discovered that Mar was supposed to re-appear in the Hive near the dead Lim-Lims where he originally spawned. However, in my game, he is not present at that location. Is this a bug, or did the Fixpack or any of the other mods present here alter where/when Mar is supposed to appear?

Application of Tweaks to an existing game?

15 July 2009 - 02:05 PM

In retrospect, I've come to realize that certain contents of the Tweak Pack that I failed to install initially (namely the Early Glabrezu tweak) might be desirable after all. However, is it possible to apply such tweaks after having installed the tweak pack previously? If so, is it possible to do so with them being usable in a pre-existing game, and without breaking that pre-existing game?

Pharod's Vault

03 July 2009 - 03:31 PM

Did the Fixpack alter anything here (I have the tweakpack, fixpack, and UB installed)? The only loot I encountered after thoroughly combing the area was a single jar of embalming juice and some needle and thread. None of the areas that, from what I read up on after being perplexed by the absence of anything worthwhile, should have more significant pieces of loot contain any accessible containers or equipment piles.

Planescape Torment Emoric Not Acknowleding Completion of Tasks

02 July 2009 - 03:29 PM

I've followed Emoric's instructions with respect to joining the Dustmen and have completed Norochj's task regarding the investigation of the Mortuary. However, Emoric is not acknowledging the succesful completion of the quest or assigning any further missions. Furthermore, I have heard that I am apparently supposed to receive acknowledgment for neutralizing the Dustman-impersonating thief, but none of the named NPCs in the Gathering Dust bar have any conversation options relevant to the matter. I'm running the game patched at 1.1 with Unfinished Business and the Fixpack. What precisely am I supposed to do now in order to join the Dustmen, and is there any way to resolve these issues?

Furthermore, I've been playing with multiple party members for quite some time, but I've not experienced any of the NPC "banters" one can supposedly encounter, yet I have the Tweakpack's Banter Accelerator installed and set to thirty minutes.

Planescape Torment Spell Glitches

28 June 2009 - 09:15 AM

So I've recently become a Mage in Planescape Torment, and have been trying out the spells initially available to the Nameless One. In doing so, I've encountered several a pretty considerable graphical problem. Whenever I cast Chromatic Orb, or whenever the effects for Armor/Shield dissipate, my screen begins to flicker and the game slows down drastically. The game returns to normal after the spell is complete or the effect disappears, but it's still extremely irritating and disorienting.

I have an nVidia 8600 GT. As per this guide I installed this nVidia fixer before starting my current game. Has anyone experienced this issues before and, if so, how might one resolve them? I've tried disabling hardware acceleration, and while it seems to resolve this issue it does introduce that of cursor artifacts, so I'm wondering if there are any solutions that don't otherwise adversely impact the game to a noticeable degree (or any means of resolving both issues at once).
