PsT Symbol of Torment Logo/ Icons for mods

06 July 2009 - 06:55 AM

Hello shsforumers :D

I was planning on creating new Vista/XP Icons for Planescape Torment, because the old Windows 98 256color icon looks kinda bad when it gets stretched. But it ended up with me creating a much more detailed Symbol Of Torment then I initially wanted to. I used a picture from an unknown artist I found on the Internet as reference for the outlines. First I created a Vector Image out of an source image and then I made the Icons out of the Vector Image. I am also going to work on some wallpapers (still working on the background).

Here are the finished image as PNG in case any of you want to use it for whatever PsT/IE project you are working on. :D Icons for Windows and Max OSX can be found at the end of the post.

Finished Symbol of Torment V3 images - transparent PNG's - updated 11/07/2009 :

The screenshot above is based on a earlier Work In Progess Version of the Symbol of Torment Logo, the actual .ico file is based on the latest version. Available for Windows and Mac OSX. Create a Link of Torment EXE, right-click, properties, Change Icon, select the .ico file, press OK.

Or use ResHack to change the embedded Icon of the torment.exe (as seen on the screenshots).

I am also going to work in wallpapers and will post them in the "Layers of Reality" subforum.

Planescape Torment - Assertion Error in Siege Tower

27 June 2009 - 03:57 PM

I cannot enter the Siege Tower anymore in the Lower Wards. The Game will crash after loading the area. Also, I can not load my savegame inside the Siege Tower anymore, I get a CTD as soon as it finished loading the area.

I just reinstalled the game with all the mods because I got exactly the same error when trying to enter a house in the Buried City. These assertion erros keep piling up :o

I already edited the ini and cleaned the cache and temp folders, but that didn't worked.

Installed Mods (in that order):
Patch V1.1
Widescreen Mod 2.1 (1280x720)
Qwinns Fixpack
Qwinns UB
Qwinns Tweak Mod
Ghostdogs UI (1280x720)

EDIT: I reinstalled it again and it still crashes when entering/loading the Siege Tower. dang :( BUT! I loaded a savegame from hours ago and it worked! If there's anyway to fix that assertation error that would be awesome, because the workign savegame is reaaaaally old.

PsT Spells -> Graphic Corruption

13 June 2009 - 04:05 PM

Hi :)

I have a problem similiar to http://www.shsforums...p;hl=PsT spells , but I do NOT own an Nvidia Graphics Card.
When I cast a spell the area effect of becomes pixelated at the end of the spell's animation. On this picture... (or see attachment):

... you can clearly see what I mean.  Enabling Software Blitting and Transparency fixed it - if it weren't for the fact that enabling Software Blitting will reduce the average FPS to 4 - pretty much unplayable.

Here are my specs:
Core 2 Duo
Asus P5Q Pro Mainboard
Radeon HD 4870 GPU
Realtek ALC Onboard Sound / Audigy 2
2Gb Ram, 1066.

I am running Windows Vista 32bit. I have installed the WS Mod, UI Mod from Ghostdog and UB/Fixpack from Qwinn.

EDIT: I tried to install the Nvidia DLL Fix of the Sticky, but it didn't help.

Questions about a 16:9 1920x1080 res version :)

01 June 2009 - 10:05 PM

Hello :)

first off, I want to say thanks to Ghostdog for his great UI mod!

Now, to my question. :) I recently bought a new Monitor, and so I was wondering if they are plans to support higher resolutions than 1280xXXX as well. My monitor is a 16:9 display with a native resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. Everything below that will be stretched to the max display size, or resized while preserving the aspect ratio, depending on the settings.
Although the resizers of the monitor and, if I enable it, that of the GPU are working pretty good, the upscaled picture doesnt look that sharp anymore. So I was wondering if you are planning something like that. :)

Thanks for reading this and keep up the good work. :)
