In my install of BWS Tactical, when I start bg2 and put up with all the cutscenes etc. and finally have imoen let me out of my cell I see a message in the text window saying Imoen is losing experience in chunks of 33333 points. This occurs three times. But she starts at level 10 while I am level 6 regardless of losing that exp. Once I get Jaheira and Minsc, they too lose some experience though not as much. Does anyone know what causes that?
The other two things I was going to mention are, my fighter/cleric multiclass character can put points into any weapon proficiency or style, even bladed weapons. Some other characters, like a half-orc barbarian, can choose any alignment they want. Does a certain mod cause these discrepancies, or is it an error I made for myself?
Thank you for any ideas on these things.

BGT Tactical Game
21 June 2010 - 07:24 AM
I have a BWS/BGT Tactical game in the works right now, I had to put it off for a week or so. I am wondering just how difficult a Tactical install is. I've heard that it's "stupid hard", but can anyone tell me more?
This being the case, can anyone recommend a character that's powerful enough starting in BG1 for a complete run through the sequel and TOB also? I was thinking of using a shapeshifter, but the fact that you cannot talk when shapeshifted is puzzling me. For example, if I was shifted into a werewolf and was busy slaying monsters when suddenly someone tries to talk to me, would I have to switch back to human before talking and then have to rest? By rest, I mean rest to recharge my shifting ability. Overall, how awkward to use is the shapeshifter?
I prefer melee characters and other finesse melee builds, but if anything else stands out I'm interested in hearing about it. Thank you.

question about current version

I was thinking of playing BGT as a Shapeshifter, but I was curious if you still cannot talk as a werewolf. Also, can your paws still be dispelled? Just making sure. If I can't talk as a werewolf, can you even designate another party character to talk? Thank you.
New BWP install, some questions
14 June 2010 - 09:03 AM
The BWP install finished early this morning while I was asleep. I got up and looked at the progress and the window said something about a "Mod Check 2". It went through a few screens of 'press a key to continue', and then the window closed itself. Did installation really finish or not?
If it did finish, I am wondering about a few more things. In BG1, the watcher who asks if you want to skip the prologue is up around the corner of the castle keep instead of right next to you when the game starts. Is that normal? The second thing is, when I tested BG2 quickly, Imoen is level 10 and the rest of the starting characters (including NPC Branwen) are level 6 or 7. Jaheira is 6/7 dual class and Branwen is maybe 6 or 7 fighter/battleguard of tempus. If this is all normal, just let me know so I can stop worrying. Thank you.

BWP Tactical version and Improved Ilyich
14 January 2010 - 11:59 AM
I was wondering if the BWP Tactical installation uses the files from Ascension (I think) that makes the Ilyich encounter in the opening dungeon really difficult. If it does, how difficult would it be to remove that option and instead use the Improved Ilyich mod that still increases the challenge but not quite so much? Thanks.
