Qustion about an older mod

30 January 2009 - 06:38 PM

So in the process of going through and finding all the old things I had and getting newer versions I ran across an old mod that was "cespyaudio" which basically added in some new lines into Cespenar's audio in BGII when creating the new items that he had the ability to make. I don't remember exactly what the it all entailed with installation, but I believe it was pretty much just something that added in audio clips. I'll post the read me at the end. I am using the BWP for the different mods this time around and m not sure if this would cause conflicts with that install. It does use the "Weimer Item Upgrades". I guess the real question is if this is worth it or has this been included at all.

It's been a very long time since I played through BG and well, the college years were not kind to my brain cells.

Thanks.

Item Upgrade Audio

I enjoyed writing many of the lines you see for Cespenar in Westley
Weimer's Item Upgrade mod. So I decided to have even more fun and breathe
life into those lines with my best crack at a voice for our favorite imp
butler.

So, here it is. All 44 "intro" lines to the items that can be upgraded, as
of IU v25, are here.

Requirements: Item Upgrade V25 or better, English language install.

Run the c2audiouninstall.bat file to remove the audio files.

mods, mods, mods

At the risk of sounding redundant with others that are new here, holy crap things have changed. To start with, I've played the vanilla games (BG and BGII and etc) and I went through with TUTU. Now, I'd like to try a bit more and go with the BGT and have that seamless transition from one to the other with the additions that I've found here. After reading a bit, I figure the best way to go is with the Big World Project method, and select the different mods that I want to use. Which leads to a few questions, but the one that is the most pressing is probably the simplest to answer. Really I just want to make sure that I understand all that I read.

So I start with a clean install and follow along with the pdf, grab the mods I want in the correct named folder, get the BWP installed and let it run. Making sure that I follow all the notes from either the PDF or from the site as far as the notes and any prereqs I want.

Is this correct and as easy and simplistic as I am making it sound or am I missing something?
