In Topic: Platter's fix pack

No, you only need the Quinn Fixpack - it includes the stuff Platter fixed. Besides, they are probably not compatible with each other. See the readme.
In Topic: Yet ANOTHER new tweak for 4.0
19 August 2009 - 12:18 AM
Just returned to PST after a few months distracted by other games, and WHOA, it appears you fixer-upper-ers have made HEAPS of progress since the 3.xx releases. This is crazy-awesome! Reading all these new fixes, tweaks, and businesses, makes me look forward to playing PST even more! (In short, I'm thankful)
Quinn, call me pessimistic, but I sincerely hope you have backed-up all your work on the next version. It'd be a bugger if your hard drive crashed or some such (I'm just sayin')
As for this tweak, I love it. How far in the game could you get with 3 STR/CON, I wonder? Or INT/WIS for that matter. It might not break anything, but it might make things extremely difficult - that might be reason for keeping it within the 2E ruleset. (In short, I'm not sure)

Nice work on the install guide - very professional!
I'm liking it except for one thing - why do you tell people not to install Scale of Souls? That is one of the most useful tweaks ever in my opinion, and I do not consider it a "cheat" because you still have no way of knowing which moral direction a dialog path may end up - this merely tells you after the fact. (Actually, one of the things that annoyed me most in my first play back in 1999, was that I wanted to role-play a specific alignment, and not having any clue where I was in getting there, it was very frustrating)

In Topic: Bottom edge cut off of screen, display issues.

As Ghostdog says, you most likely need a digital (DVI) connection to display 1280x800. Some monitors like mine do not support it on analog (VGA), even if you add it as a custom resolution, instead it displays as 1280x768. I'm not sure if an adapter would work either - ideally you want DVI to DVI.
Open up your graphics card control panel. On a DVI connection, you need to select Display Adapter Scaling. I have a nVidia graphics card, where you can find it under nView Display Settings > Device Settings button > Device Adjustments > select Display Adapter Scaling > OK > OK. You may also need to go to the Screen Resolutions tab and add 1280x800x60Hz as a custom resolution. (I'm not sure where these settings are with an ATI graphics card but it should be similar)
What this means is that your monitor will ALWAYS run at its native resolution (1440x900). When a game wants a lower resolution, even 640x480, your graphics card will scale up the image instead of your monitor scaling it. Therefore your monitor is always happy and does not have to change modes for any resolution. (In my experience you also get a better, more uniformly scaled picture)
By the way, for games that are in 4:3 aspect, you can also choose Fixed Aspect Ratio Scaling, if you do not want the game stretched to widescreen (it adds black bars on the sides)
Cheers
