Fixing Sarevok's missing spell casting animation and so on

Hello,

since a few years I worked on a project that pursues the goal to give Sarevok his old BG1 equipment (armor, helmet, two-handed sword) back in ToB. Thanks Infinity Animations I have now created a working paperdoll graphic for him. I have created also inventory icons for his armor and his helmet. But the project is not yet completed.

The following points are still open:

a) The Sarevok animation has no spell casting animation, which is why the game crashes when a character casts a spell with its animation. As a solution, I had the idea to add a spell casting animation for him. No new, but a copy of his idle animation. Unfortunately I only have a rudimentary understanding of BG1/BG2 animation system. I would therefore very glad for any tip and help to bring the whole thing to work.

b) In Sarevok's animation is a sword directly involved and requires no additional weapons animated by an item. The problem is that item animations such as a sword or shield are displayed so that it looks as if Sarevok has more than two arms. And the game crashes whenever a (displayed) weapon is used in this way. For other animations in the game, such as the shadow thief or the drows, the problem does not occur. In their case weapon animations are not displayed. Is there a way to solve this problem with Sarevok's animations?
