:bash: I've tried with 3 different PCs--paladin (LG), fighter/cleric (CG), and thief (CN)--but *EVERY* time I rescue Immy she and Chloe fall into the sack so fast they must get blanket burns.
I've studied the FAQ and read this forum, but I've no idea what I'm doing wrong. Chloe asks a bunch of questions about how I feel about being Bhaalspawn etc and even mentions poetry. My answers make her laugh and say that I interest her, but as soon as Immy is around...Bang.
I'm about to give up in frustration... HELP! Don't leave me to Anomen!

You have to wait for Chloe to start romancing you before you rescue Imoen. The dialogues are scripted so that you rescue Imoen after the third lovetalk, the one that starts with Chloe: So how are you feeling this morning, [charname]? Lovetalks after that require Imoen to be around... but you definitely need to get her to tell you that she's into you before you rescue Immy because she hooks up with Imoen if she's not hooked up with you.

I've just done a crash course on CLUAconsole and managed to find an old saved game *just* before the last GTKU talk. These are the relevant variables before and after my PC's reply:
before:

What are your intelligence and charisma stats? Are they high enough? Because the interest is high enough and I assume your character has girlparts...

OK, in reading this thread, I'm confused. I had thought that Chloe wouldn't even romance you at all without Imoen in the party (that she would only do the getting to know you stuff), and this thread suggests that the romancing should have already started before you rescue Imoen.
Is this why Chloe doesn't seem to be making any movement toward me or Imoen lately? I had some flirt options available for a while, and now I'm endlessly stuck (when I try to talk to Chloe) with the "Has anyone ever told you you're very attractive [charname]?"
Is there still a chance at romance? Or is everything doomed now? Because Chloe doesn't seem to be flirting with either of us, and an awful lot of days have passed since the first time the "you're attractive" dialogue became available.
I made a point of rescuing Imoen fairly early in the game precisely so that I could get the romance going, and now I wonder if I rescued her too early. I really don't want to start the game from ground zero all over again....

Rescuing Imoen early shouldn't have hurt you. You just have to have Imoen in your party to get the 4th lovetalk and for those thereafter. It'll be easy to tell that one because Chloe starts out with "Chloe: I see how much more at ease you are now that Imoen has been rescued, <charname>. I'm happy for you. (Smile)"
The next lovetalk actually occurs between Chloe and Imoen, where Chloe asks Imoen what your PC was like as a child. It can be easy to mistake this for a Chloe-Imoen banter, but the PC does get to get involved in the conversation.
After that, the next few lovetalks are events and you likely need to head to Athkatla or some other non-random zone to see them.

Thing is, the last piece of conversation Chloe initiated was that "Has anyone every told you you're very attractive." At that point, I thought, "Great, she's getting interested" and figured I'd see if any new flirt options were now available to me. Instead, every time I try to talk to her, she repeats the "Has anyone ever told you you're very attractive" talk. I've tried all the non-rejection option and while she seems to respond positively to each one, she hasn't advanced to any new conversations.
My memory isn't exactLy golden, but I don't recall any talks about how I seem more at ease since Imoen was rescued. The last coversation I remember before the "you're very attractive" one (and if might not have been the immediately previous one...maybe it was a couple before) was the "You seem sad. Why don't you tell me a funny story about you and Imoen growing up" (or something along those lines.)
I've been back in Athkatla for a while now, cleaning up quests that I didn't finish earlier because I was in a rush to get Imoen. So far, I haven't run into any people or events that have triggered Chloe's quest or anything like that. I've been trying to figure out how to get to that quest, but haven't picked up on the subtle clue in the introductory fiction about her. I thought maybe someone in the Den of the Seven Vales, since Chloe likes to stay there when she's in Athkatla apparently...but no dice on that one. I certainly hope her quest isn't triggered by Aran Lindvail, since I agreed to help wipe out the Shadow Thieves for Inspector Braega (haven't gone over to do the job, but I imagine as soon as I get near the guild, I'll have to follow through). In any case, I'm pretty much cluelessly wandering around hoping I'll stumble upon the trigger for her quest and maybe that will help.
I don't know anything about BG2 modding, so I don't know if any of my variables have gone buggy or anything, but currently I'm at:

Somehow your lovetalks are stuck. CHLOVETALKCR = 2 <--- that means you're in the middle of the first lovetalk... it should be set to 3 when the dialogue is over. For whatever reason (I imagine some condition is interfering) it's not being set to 3. Change it to 3, it should fix the problem. As for why it happened, I couldn't guess without asking a bunch of questions that won't need to be asked unless it happens again.

Well, that certainly got results right away.
Soon as I set it to 3 and started the game, I got some dialogue about Chloe looking pensive.
Not sure if the game has skipped any talks in the interim (since I've not played the Chloe mod before), but at least we're moving in the right direction.
Out of curiosity, you said that the setting of lovetalkcr at 2 meant I was in the middle of the first lovetalk. So, does 4 indicate the beginning of the second lovetalk, 5 the middle of the second talk, and 6 the completion, and then on to 7 for the start of the third lovetalk?
Just curious, in case I get stuck again.

Don't worry...I won't be THAT impatient.

You get more flirt options as the romance progresses. They don't all show up at the beginning of the romance.Don't worry...I won't be THAT impatient.
