Yikari: Small one, might I ask a question of you?
Mazzy: Small one? My good Yikari, I would prefer to be addressed by my name, which is Mazzy.
Yikari: Forgive me Mazzy. I did not mean to offend.
Mazzy: Not at all sir. What is your question?
Yikari: Mazzy, I note that you are a warrior of some skill, and dedicated to the service of your god.
Mazzy: I thank you for the compliment. I do strive to be a worthy servant of Avoreen.
Yikari: Yet you seem to crave recognition as a Paladin of this ?Avoreen? from those outside of your race and faith?
Mazzy: That is true. I would wish to be recognized as a Paladin.
Yikari: So I understand. Why?
Mazzy: Pardon?
Yikari: Why do you crave such recognition?
Mazzy: It is perhaps difficult for one from Karatur to understand Yikari. My people are, I fear, undervalued and underestimated by the great powers in this land. We are dismissed as farmers and merchants, and those few of us who pursue more adventurous lives are too often characterized as thieves. I wish to bring glory and recognition to my people and my god, to show the world that Halflings too can strive for justice, and for the right.
Yikari: Do you not see how hollow such recognition would be? Perfection of the self is all that matters, and that takes place entirely within.
Mazzy: That may be true good monk. Still, I must look beyond myself to serve my people, and in this world glory is no small thing.
