This sounds very very interesting indeed! the idea of having a cleric/sorcerer is amazing! (i always liked the mage/cleric multiclass, but i hate learning and memorizing spells ).
Ive some questions though, ive read the spells are sold from a merchant, but what do you do when you have the spells? memorize them as normal spells? Also, ive read this are not kits, so.... how can you become a sorcerer/cleric, for example?
Ive been waiting for new and interesting mods to come out before i start playing bg2 again (all the ones i used to have bored me long time ago)... i%'httSO adding this one to the list too!!!

Anyway, a good suggestion would be searching a better host, instead of 3ddownload. Icelus's one is particularly good, as he gives you a ftp account and then you can update the mod (or add a new one) without continuosly pestering him... (just praising his generosity with his webspace as he's currently hosting Mazzy the Paladin )
Also, implementing an XP penalty seems right, since you're widening your activity field and you're concentrating yourself on more subjects.
Another suggestion would be to drop druidic spells. Call Woodland Beings is OK, but "Insect Plague" and "Creeping Doom" are over the top. their only drawback is that they take some time to cast, now you can quicken them with a (Chain) Contingency or a Vecna. :edwin:
Also, I've done a small conceptual mistake in the WeiDU installer I wrote (well, it's not that the mod doesn't work, it's almost a finesse). I will send you a corrected one as soon as I am done with 3DDownload queue....

It is going to get a massive update and beome much more interesting after Hubelpot is out the door and I do some work on SConrad's mod.
Just buy and read the books, and the spells will be added to your Arcane spellbook. You'll lose 2 points of Dex and Con, but your Cleric/Sorcerer will work perfectly. S/he will gain experience just like any other Sorcerer, and the spells will be there in the book each time you level up. You won't even lose any spell picks; that's why the Dex and Con penalties are there.
Tested, works fine, enjoy.

In the works as soon as I can figure out how to get it to, well, work.

The new version of the mod handles this by creating a separate Arcane Druid set of books; there will be 14 books in all, 7 for Arcane Clerics, 7 for Arcane Druids. All will be available for sale, with the ms powerful ones vary expensive, and will also be placed as treasure.
When I have the time.

see the attached file (borrowed from the Druidic Sorceror) for an example. Use a similar effect on the teaching item. Also, implementing an XP penalty seems right, since you're widening your activity field and you're concentrating yourself on more subjects.
In the works as soon as I can figure out how to get it to, well, work.
Note: use only the % XP change (first effect), the flat bonus (second effect) is there for something you can't replicate, since you don't know your actual XP when reading the book.
Adding stuff as a treasure (both on creatures or in containers) will involve mid-level WeiDU coding (whereas adding stuff to stores requires low-level coding). Just be sure to read the WeiDu tp2 tutorials, since one tells you specifically how to do this as an example of a feature. Call yourself luckyAnother suggestion would be to drop druidic spells. EDIT: FIXED ABOVE LINK - BobTokyo
if the link doesn't work, try here instead, then click "fw_temporary_modding" and then download smm.rar
Note to Bob: you should anyway ask Icelus for giving you a ftp account if you want to keep hosting there. I've simply put it temporarily, until you get something better than 3dd.

I said it at the PPG forum, I love this mod a lot -- adds a whole new dimension to my playing.
I'm glad that Druid/Cleric spells are being divided up, and more books will allow for some picking and choosing.
Some suggestions:
-- A minimum Wisdom score, something relatively high, as a prerequsite to using the books -- maybe the store merchant could do a wisdom check to even let you get to the shop screen, or start the quest if ever a quest is made? To access Druid spells, shouldn't they at least be a neutral alignment of some kind?
-- It would be nice to change the class title on the Records page to "Chosen of Mystra" of "Chosen of <Something Druidic Here>, similar to how Druids get the "Great Druid" title changed after completeing their stronghold quest. With druids, this happens regardless of their kit and doesn't change anything. The kit descriptions are still available on the tab at the bottom of the page.
I really like the idea of the psuedo-class change happening in-game ... it's a much smoother path than adding a kit to the Char Creation Screen, and potentially makes for better storytelling. All the scripting involved in the Druidic Sorcerer kit in character creation/opening moments of the game rather annoyed me.
More Complicated Things to Consider:
-- A quest or series of smaller quests as a combination of both initation and training (deserves a separate topic)
-- It'd be cool to give the Chosen of Mystra folks some kind of HLA too; let the Druidic Mages have access to shapeshifting, the Clerical Mages (or whatever) get something else (don't play many clerics). Or make something completely new that ties into the whole God-worship/Magic mixture.
-- Appropriate NPCs noting the tweaked class. The Clerics in the Temple District and Faldorn are obvious examples. I especially would think Faldorn would freak at the the idea of a mage -- who bends the natural law to his will -- having access to druidic powers. <Laughs> Imagine what she would think about a Bard!
-- Almost all of the bioware 16 would probably have things to say about the PC accepting Mystra's blessing or whatever. The Druids and the Clerics would, especially. Would Valygar be more or less approving of a magic user recieving the direct blessing of Mystra? If you change her class, shouldn't Aerie also mention Mystra in some of her banters (can't remember if she does or not when she's talking about the Gods she worships)
Thanks again for this mod, BobTokyo. I'm really am digging it.
Best,
MythicalChicken
