I've been playing DLTCEP, trying to make a character to joni my party. She is a cleric/mage and I've done everything. I added a dialog thing to her but when I go into the game and spawn her it says that she has nothing to say to me. I don't know what is wrong but she should have something to say I need help. I'm really new to this editor and engine.

Do you want to create a mod for others to be able to download/play? In that case, you can't use DLTCEP.

If you only want to use it yourself, I suggest you create a multiplayer game, create an additional NPC, save your game and move the saved game to the single player saved-game-folder.

Also, if you really want to spawn this cleric/mage, and the dialogue won't work, enable cheats in the baldur.ini-file (setting Debug Mode=1 under [Program Options]) and then hold your cursor over the NPC and press CTRL+Q. That will make her a member of your party.

If you really want to use the dialogue, I suggest you look here and here.

What is it you want to accomplish? If you want to make an NPC for other to use as well, you can't use DLTCEP.

If you want to create an NPC of your own, I strongly suggest you do it an "easy" way (multiplayer or CTRL+Q). If you still don't want that, use the tutorial. Use WeiDU and .d-files. The safest, smartest and most easy way.

lol..

ok..

This character is for me, personal use. I want to learn how to do this stuff though, so here I am.

So I wrote the stuff out and saved it as sarah.d, right?

How do I get it into DLTCEP so it displays the stuff in the window?

I read all the tutorial but it didn't tell me how to put it on my character.. Unless I missed something.

egh, I did it.

There isn't a scripting reference available somewhere or something? A lot of these tutorials I am reading are not so great.

You need to install everything with WeiDU. You create a .tp2-file as mentioned in the tutorial.

Also: Have you coded it like you should? (I.e. like in the tutorial).

Try opening the .CRE file and making sure no flags are checked - a common problem is the 'Export Allowed' flag being checked, which it shouldn't be for a joinable NPC. :)

I don't even know what a tp2 file is.

I wrote/mostly copied and pasted the dialog code into my text editor, saved it as sarah.d, threw it into the right directory, went into DLTCEP and imported it and everything worked just fine. I loaded up BG2 and she joined and everything. I biffed up the spells a bit though. Instead of knowing the spells she had them memorized, even if there weren't slots for them. hahaha.

I just need some good tutorials. I'm used to easy breezy, lot's of picture's tutorials. I used to mod for Morrowind but the game and CS broke. :( Know a DLTCEP tutorial?

Well, there was one at TeamBG. But they're down at the moment.
