Optional kit 1:
Village Druid
The Village Druid, also known as the Wise Man or Wise Woman, is found in many small rural communities. He or She is skilled in herbal medicine, animal husbandry, midwifery, agriculture, and the many other tasks so vital to the maintenance of an isolated settlement. Additionally, the Village Druid draws magic from the land to assist in these tasks. The Village Druid will often act formally or informally as a judge and records keeper, and as an advisor to the village headman or council.
Advantages:
May cast Sanctuary as an innate ability once per day. Lasts 1 turn.
At Level 3 gains the innate ability to cast Remove Paralysis once per day.
At Level 6 gains the innate ability to cast Poison once per day.
At Level 9 gains the innate ability to cast Mass Cure once per day.
At Level 12 gains the innate ability to cast Animal Summoning III once per day.
Disadvantages:
May not shapeshift.
Optional kit 2:
Vegetable Farmer
This druid is specialized in agriculture and selling vegetables. While he is not so much intrested in the wilderness as other druids, his prime concern is his vegetables.
Advantages:
Can create different vegetables which all have their special powers, or sold to merchants for a good price:
Carrots - can be used to summon rabbits, like the Horn of Herne the Hunted or eaten for healing.
Tomatoes - can be used to be thrown on people for 1D2 damage + stun + blindness for two rounds.
Beans - can be thrown on the floor for entangle-effect, people will slip on it unless save vs. wands, or being able to cast the spell Stinking Cloud two times, if eaten.
Peppers - if eaten, the eater will be able to breathe fire twice for 1D8 damage for two rounds, unless save vs. breath weapons.
Garlic - protection from vampires, if eaten.
Potatoes - heals twice as good as other vegetables.
Disadvantages:
May not shapeshift.
The other two kits' are optional and can be choosed at installation. You can only install one at a time. If none of these are chosen, Hubelpot will be a Totemic Druid. None of the optional kits' can be used as kit for the PC.

My recommendations goes to the Village Druid-kit. That's Hubelpot without being a joke.

I like your joke option. The Vegetable Farmer-kit is considered the joke-option. I personally don't recommend it (even though I created it), unless you want Hubelpot to be a wacky character.

I agree with MTS; it was a good move to have all three available. The Village Druid for a slightly more serious, slightly less powerful character that fits well into the world, the Totemic Druid for a more powerful character that works well within the game, and the Vegetable Farmer for a comic relief kit.
I guess we're lucky we didn't make Hubelpot into an Adult Toys, Novelties and Marital Aids dealer.

So you think I should stick to the topic, so that this thread doesn't become a lightning rod for criticism? I'll admit it's a knobby problem. Maybe we should take a poll?I hope you are aware of the possibility of misinterpretation.

Hrm... The second option's mine.Bob, you are beyond.
. I would also love the second option. Totemic druids can be had by the dozens.

And the first one was done in co-operation.

Hey what about Hubelpot's cucumbers, they're long, hard, and good eatin, they should be included in the Vegitable Farmer kit.
I guess we're lucky we didn't make Hubelpot into an Adult Toys, Novelties and Marital Aids dealer.

I'd say we'll leave the cucumbers out of this. Partly because of the reason SK mentions, and partly because the kit's probably already so buggy that I haven't even dared to test it. Yet.

vampires are incredibly common in the game, so a prot from vampires would be as good as prot from undead...

actually tomatoes, blinding effects, and the beans sounds a little overpowered...
use beans, and web, toss in a cloudkill, and voila...dead monsters...
blindness would be more powerful than power word blindness cause you can use improved haste to rapidfire tomatoes...

yes, its not a joke kit, but uber powerful...
