By request, I have done a minor change to the mod. An new animation appears over the caster when casting timestop. ToB is required for that component, which is optional.

What an excellent idea!

The Time Stop spell has always given me grief in BGII. It just doesn't translate into computer game land the way it was intended. Firstly, the duration should be 1d3 rounds, not 3, so it's more powerful. Secondly, the spell should only affect a 15-foot radius, not the whole frickin' area.

Thirdly, mages are overpowered already because many of their spells become ridiculously overpowered (read: Stoneskin) without the expensive material costs they incur in PnP roleplaying. Stoneskin, for instance, costs 500gp PER SPELL in the actual game. Ditto for True Seeing, a.k.a. - 'So you're an illusionist, eh? Too bad.'

Once again, I say... BRAVO!!! :thumb:

Thanks. What annoyed me most was mages not taking advantage of their time stop, but instead casting worthless spells (like symbol fear) my party members saved against. I've actually got a patchy update on the todo-list. :)

@Qualidor: Spell Immunity Divination and you have no trouble as illusionist.

@SConrad. Symbol of Fear annoys me most, because for some reason most of the time my front fighters always start running.

Still modding the Mod for the Wicked... It is a big project you know... And I got sidetracked (several times) a bit... sorry.
However, as we all know, Evil never really sleeps.

but... are enemy mages still going to try to cast this first against me? I.e. is it going to make those encounters a lot easier? (I already decline to cast Time Stop myself, as I think it's cheesy.) If enemy mages will be scripted to waste a round and hurt themselves I'd rather just remove the spell altogether.

Or, to approximate an area-effect spell, just change it to stun all creatures within 15', no save, short duration. Would be handy for mages as a last resort if they're stuck in the thick of a battle. Or, make it targetable to be really nasty (and yet still not as annoying as current timestop).
