Through the first half of the game, I wsa starting to get bored, because it was seeming to turn out to be another generic "new jedi no one knows about happens to destroy the evil lord and become a universal hero". But then after the Twist I became much more interested. So, do you people think this plot was good and original? I think it was very good, one of the best plots in a Star Wars game I've ever played... how do you think this plot stands up with the plots of the other games discussed on these forums? I think it might be on level with BG2 as far as characterization and plot twists go.

I was intrigued from the start.

The plot twist surprised me completely (but then I'm not familiar with the Star Wars Games).

I'm happy to see a board up finally! :D

I really liked the plot although I thought the game was a bit to short. ^_^ I had suspected the turn in the story but was still shocked when it happened, an absolutely marvelous turn in the story IMO! It was very fun when you played the game again and really saw how obvious it was and smiled at your own stupidness.

Exactly!!

I like to think that it was because of the not thoroughly removed gender references in the dialogues. Makes me feel less stupid! :D

If you have the subtitles on there is absolutly no reference to gender, it's only the voice actors who make reference if at all, I know because I played both male and female Chars and had the subtitles on. I prefere to read rather then listen and as I remember almost everything I read (unless it's factual for some odd reason) I can honestly say what I said. Very clever because I played it once to play the game twice to see if anything changed due to gender and thrice to see if there was any reference to gender in the conversations, and the only one I found was some of the dialoges with Candueros (spelling I know)

I apparently have a high level of empathy, combined with a low level of sympathy... weird

That's right! It was Canderous. I think there was a second one... but most probably not.

Still... there was a gender reference. Let me have my illuison!

There wasn't one in the subtitles is all I'm saying, but bear in mind Canderous never met you or saw you, all he knew was that you defeated his people almost single handedly

I'm mean I know and I enjoy it

The plot was nice, methinks, and i wasnt expecting the twist either, although i must confess i dont always like to be some kind of very important person... uh, say, "the child of bhaal" ;) i rather be a commoner making its way up or something :)

BTW: i was very pissed too, cos you know im all goodie and lightsided and stuff, but argh i SO joined the dark side! TRAITORS! :P

I thought it was superb. I suspected the twist at the start and more so on the SF but it was still great.

I also liked the pacing of the plot it never felt too "rushed".

The characters level of depth was awesome - miles better than Bg2 & nearly as good as PS:T (IMO)

Also when you played evil - you really felt evil. The changing of your face and the events that take place on the unknown world where very very good.

After the 'heinous acts' your evil character commits near the end of the game, I felt so dirty! I mean, that was just plain EVIL. Also about the evilness, I liked how that as you got more evil your appearance became more evil. The wrinkly blemished skin, and the glowing yellow eyes were SO cool (I used the bald male with little mustache-beard thing-the effect of the evil was amazing!)

It was almost on a par, in terms of power and effect, with 'No, Luke... *I* am your father!' and that's pretty hard to manage. The cutscene/flashback handling that revelation was quite superb, as were the events afterward - your party's reactions, etc.

You have a light side/dark side meter - depending on the acts you do it tips the balance.

the plot was good, and I did suspect the twist but was still pleasantly surprise when the twist did come up. :)
