serious: this could be interesting. I will contribute with something when the brainstorm begins
Letting you know you're the next one dead
I am the blade that cuts your skin
That forgives yourself for all your sin
I am the guilt that gnaws your soul
Corrodes the heart to a gaping hole
The hammers pounding all around
So you beat the walls to rid the sound
I am your memories, distorted and loud
That make you scream and shreik aloud
Yes, I make you crazy, it's all my fault
That we're here alone in this cushoined vault

For the sake of easyness.. there are no planar portals anywhere on this world.
explain the Rune system? I never seen it before...
I think more of a jungle like setting would work than a typical foresty fantasy setting.. a world of jungles
Also the only carryover classes that are unchanged should be
Fighter
Thief
Bard (or not, depending on how we use magic they might loose their mage spells or gain a spell system of their own)
in my opinion of course...

---------------
Waqins
Eons ago a highly evoluted species of fish leaved their mindles state and became aware of itself. As time passed they developed humanoid form and discovered the surface.
The Waqins are tall hairless humanoids with grey or blue scales instead of skin. Their fingerless foots are shaped like paddles and between the fingers on hand they have web. Their eyes are usually red or black and teeths long and sharp.
Their natural living-space is water and that makes them to excelent swimers and the best fighters under wather.
The Waqin society is a well organised dictatorship ruled by The Great Tyrant. Their cities are built on the bottoms of sea pits and are usually administrated by a council of three Keepers. Men and woman live separated but are equal to eachother. Waqins know no such thing like marriage and practise polygamy.
+can breath under water
+imune to cold
+some poison resistance
+darkvision
+bonus to agility and strenght
-low charisma
-reduced visibility in light
-can't breath air for more than a month - they must regenerate in water for some time
