Well, as per request that topic has been started.
And I am really proud and relieved that indeed I am coding again - the last two days have been to coding up Monty's dialogues. Far from finished, but finally it is now getting digital and not only on paper.
If that is finished it is the last bits of Ian I skipped - for being complicated, and I was getting too lazy.
Than it is back to Kirinhale's Romance.

Still modding the Mod for the Wicked... It is a big project you know... And I got sidetracked (several times) a bit... sorry.
However, as we all know, Evil never really sleeps.

Less reaction to the spoiler thread as I hoped - as it was to get the attention once again.
However, still going on nice, slow and steadily. Montaron is nicely stirring his oh so pleasant mouth again - as we are so used of him.

December promises to be a busy month - as is for all, but yes I have coded more Montaron dialogue - I pushed myself to make sure to have at least some progress. 
Nothing important to report. - More reaction to spoiler thread of dialogue would be nice.
If no suggestion comes it will be Montaron vs. Kido - a quiet odd couple after all.

Can't wait for this to be finished on behalf of I and the others waiting in the shadows.
Let me know if you need help with proof reading or something non-technical unless you can suggest somewhere I can read up on learning to mod XD.

I have long waited with this post, and as extra twist I can not seem to log in today.
I have a tale to tell.
As some are probably aware, I have an unhealthy love for loyal devices, hence my computers grow old...
Around my big move from one city to the other, about 6 months ago my first old computer died on me.
By that time I had the fortunate affair that I had a back-up of said harddisk.
This christmas, really one day before or so, my second computer failed on me.
Despite the fact that I had bought a Tera-Byte external HD, it was so utterly slow and I was so swamped with stuff that I had not the time to back-up everything.
Yesterday, a friend came by to help me out and diagnose my HD. Most likely the printer plates failed.
The chance that he can repair this is very slim.
This means that over 200+ MB material for the Mod for the Wicked (yes, my baby and what you were waiting for had grown large) is most likely lost. I have no back-up, but some files left and right, dialogue on paper.
I can not express the frustation over my change of tactics, advised to me, to bring it out all at once or else no one would ever look at as a whole with minor updates... it means that after these years, it is most likely that only Kido and Ariena (and not even their true last versions) shall see the mod communities.
I have no words to express the utter frustration and also shame. I feel like I've failed.
It requires a miracle to get the digital information back, if the disk has not corrupted next to the demise of the printer plates.
I believe that on the 23rd of december 2009 The Mod for the Wicked mod was prematurely ended due to technological failure.
All I can do is hope that my friend once again shows his brilliance, and is smarter than even he would credit himself.
I am sorry... BG2 shall always remain sub-par for evil characters... 232 MB (iirc) to the proverbial cyberspace heaven.

As a writer, I understand what it's like to lose everything and to not have the heart to start over. However, I sincerely believe that with so much support, if you could post your notes and the few odd files you have remaining, that someone else would pick it up. If you wouldn't mind this, and maybe stayed active on the forums to help out, there might still be some hope for this mod. I, for one, wouldn't mind waiting another four years - it's better than it not coming out at all.
Just some thoughts.

Agree with Whist. There was a lot of people waiting for possibility to be Amnish Bad Guy. So I belive, that You could find some people, that will help You with re-creating of lost content, cause it is (no, I can't even think, that I should write"was") one of most promising mods, that ever was created. (Surely one of few mods, that was something more, than: "Hey, I have an idea. I'll create great mod, addind Monk Stronghold/Megamod with great plot/ something else.
So, right now, we're waiting for answer.

I know I wasn't very vocal about it, but, yeah, I was actually lookin' forward to this mod, too.
That said, I think it might be too late for this game to attempt recreating what DA lost, based on what little he might have left, to any worthwhile degree (I probably wouldn't be waiting for it, anyway :/ ).

That's a great shame, been lurking for a few years watching your progress.
I'm not sure if its an option for you but there is quite a lot of software for getting stuff back from wiped or formatted hard drives. There are also companies that specialise in doing this but I've no idea how much that would cost.
Anyway, regardless, thnks for all the hard work and for working to bring something to the community as a whole.

i would gladly donate money, do you have that disc there? I think many people would also, we can arrange something like WESTLAND 2 project - and gather necessery amount. [ex. Kickstarter.com]
