While reading the info about Marilithsin AD&D manual second edition, I've noticed they have a Spell Immunity ability. Do you intend to give such ability to them, TG ?

Hmm, I don't remember that ability, but if it IS there, I'll add it if possible.

Yep, I've seen it. It does not specify though if it's a normal Spell Immunity for all schools of magic or just some of them.

Here is the link :
Balors and Marilith

Look at their special defenses line. It says, for Mariliths : "+2 weapons or better to hit, never surprised, spell immunity". It's not very clear what this "spell immunity" refers to, but, because in their description (half-page below) says "cannot be fooled by illusions and are immune to mind-affecting spells", I suspect it's an immunity to illusionist and enchantment schools.

Telekinesis is already present in the Ascension final battle, all the Mariliths use it. I'd suggest you to take a look at the .spl files, but I can tell you its working mechanism in a nutshell: the ability grabs a creature and tosses it far away from the caster, while dealing some damage at the same time.

BP uses this extensively for the various demon types. It certainly adds difficulty to an encounter!

True. What do you think, would it be possible to create a version of Telekinesis that allows you to push a creature in a direction of your choice instead of using the classical "wing Buffet" opcode?

Well, kinda. You still need to use wingbuffet, but what you do is have an invis/invul cre spawn. Then have the cre cast the spell forcing the slide towards the cre. (ie. It's a pull, not a push.) Variations on the ol' push-pull can really mix things up. The creme of course being say a 1 or 2 second "tossing" of the character followed by say 2d6 damage on a delay so it occurs at the end of the movement period. This would simulate the effect of being thrown against the wall, ceiling, etc... (Being from pnp 1d6 for every 10'. Do what damage works for you.)

The Wing Buffet effect has all sorts of parameters. It can push, pull, or wiggle in random directions. Controlled by player isn't one of them. In theory, you could spawn an invisible creature and have that do the pulling/pushing, but it probably wouldn't look too slick.
Bear in mind, also, that the effect always looks shit anyway. It's jerky when dragons use it, and this is amplified a million times when you try and do... anything at all, really.

So we can summarize things so the best option is to keep it as a good-old "toss away from the source' Wing Buffet opcode with some delayed damage effect?

I guess it would be possible - to drag vulnerable ranged and spellcaster characters to melee sounds nice.

That's more or less the BP tactic as well. Pull in magic/missle charactes, and fling away the melee ones. It can royally decimate a party in no time. In PnP telekinisis was one of the most underused abilities IMO. (Well, in the early 1st ed days anyways.)

Exactly. We'll try to make later, once we come to the Creature Revisions part of the mod.

A good idea, but right now I really wouldn't promise anything. We are full of work, and have way less time than before - we are proceeding slowly, but not at the pace we used to before the release of v1. <_<
