Don't forget that he was only able to complete the ritual Nyalee tought him! He is no shaman, he is only a brute Fire Giant with a massive amount of Bhaal potential in his body, and a semi-powerful druidic ally.Well , he did this trick with the heart.
While he is no titan in magic battles, he seems to be more than competent in ritual magic.

2.: even if she would be a cleric, she wouldn't be able to summon Balors.
Well, TG, I'm not defeated : first, I did not thought she would summon a Balor using Gate spells (although she could know such spells ), but through some ritual. Ardulace was a cleric and she was able to summon a powerful demon to help the drow against the surface elves.

Yeah, I like this myterious word: "SOME"... It is quite handy to explain something that doesn't really exists. There is no way to kill a monster? The myterious hero finds SOME way to deal with it! There are no demon-summoning clerical spells? Use SOME ritual!through some ritual
The only problem with these "somes" is that the "how" is never explained...

I said some because we already have a sample in the game. After all, a lot of thing are not explaines in BG2. And, when argueing about games and fantasy, we don't have facts which we could rely upon. So, we must use comparisons and analogies...Yeah, I like this myterious word: "SOME"... It is quite handy to explain something that doesn't really exists. There is no way to kill a monster? PS : I just wanted to prove you're wrong, TG, I'm not a big fan of this idea either.

But he could steal her heart without her help.
And taking that his invulnerability is the result of the ritual, we don't really know what His bhaalspawn powers are. It could be the ability to contact his father's old minions (although he has to make pacts to actually make them do something for him).
And why do we assume that it was Yaga-Shura who contacted the balor and not the other way round? Lots of powerful entities is interested with the bhaalspawn (as <charname> learns the hard way).

But this balor's claw still bothers me. I think that either it should be given to one of the balors in the game, or there should be some kind of explanation how did that fire giant priest managed to get it.

There is one in watchers keep, the drow matriarch summons another, and main bosses may summon them. Anything else?
Pit fiends on the other hand, multiply like rabbits (if they are to be refined like the balors, I hope that the use of Gate by enemies will be reduced. )

At least two. (Demon/Devil level, Demogorgon)There is one in watchers keep
Steel your heart, they will be refined as Balors - which means they'll get almost all of their powers. Expect some nasty times when you see these things in BG2...Pit fiends on the other hand, multiply like rabbits (if they are to be refined like the balors, I hope that the use of Gate by enemies will be reduced. )

Yes, I counted Demogorgon as a "main boss".
Will the balors summoned by bosses be given names?

Um, I meant that Demogorgon summons a Balor servant.Yes, I counted Demogorgon as a "main boss".
Not likely. I thought it would be a nice idea to turn Demogorgon's summoned Balor into his(?) special unique Balor servant, but visitors of this forum suggested that with all of his special powers that battle would become overly difficult - so it will remain a normal Balor with the "normal" upgraded abilities. Will the balors summoned by bosses be given names?

My main point against this improvement was not the fact that it would be to difficult, but the summoning of Severik can't be logically justified. You could say that the Lesser Power Demogorgon sends Severik to help his avatar, but that's not a valid point either, because Demogorgon would not care about the fate of the avatar : if the avatar is killed, his essence would return to the Abyss.Um, I meant that Demogorgon summons a Balor servant.Yes, I counted Demogorgon as a "main boss".

Maybe. But if we would happen to give them real names, I'd like to stick with their true names instead of adding random ones. If anyone can come up with a reasonable collection of demon/devil names, or can direct me to one, there is a slight chance to add them to these creatures. Slight, because that way we should make them separate .cre files, which should be avoided IMO.I didn't mean making them stronger, just giving them names. Like dragons, they are very special oponents and shouldn't be anonymous

Exactly.I think that, in general, Balors are personalized. But it does not matter too much, it's just aesthetycal
