I'd vote for the "Hiena" version, but since we don't intend to change his avatar, it really doesn't matter.

TG, I have a suggestion for the Demogorgon : you could give him a bleeding effect to his attacks.

Why?

Because his attacks seems to affect the flesh of the opponent and it very likely that wounds caused by demogorgon heal harder than normal ones.

Just seems strange to me. It's not like Demo has super shart tentacles. I associate bleeding with slashing and other edged attacks.

I don't know exactly what causes the bleeding effect in BG2, but it can't be related to "slashing and other edged attacks", because not all those types of weapons do bleeding damage. It has to be something which prevents the wound from closure.

Generally it's the super sharp magical weapons/claws of that type that cause bleeding.

super sharp? i thought those wounds caused by rusty swords (those with many edges like a saw) wont close well.

ADD rules not real world. :)

As I recall back in the old old 1st ED AD&D days bleeding was first introduced in the context of one particular magic sword only. Nothing else caused bleeding.

I don't recall 2nd ed as well but I think that this sword made it over & that it was the only thing there too.

yes, i know. my pet gauth flying around my head tells me that, too. hes soooo cute and de girls love him, too. i named him naughty gauthy. :D

i think an add-on for ad&d has rules for bleeding and other stuff like roles for hit location.

this shit auto log in keeps going on my nerves.

here it is tactics and combat. critical hit effect.
1d2 hp loss per turn for minor bleeding until healed or bandaged + a chance it stops on its own (everytime he gets damage from bleeding save vs death to stop it entirely)
there are also major and severe bleeding. i might take pics if you want. i wont type it all here.

To answer the starting idea of Feanor, I don't think that a bleeding effect is needed - Demogorgon's attacks already cause disease damage and drain levels from the victim. I think this seems enough.

Balors could also have dementional door. Usually, enemies who warp after the party are horribly annoying but as Balors can actually do that (in 3rd edition at least) this would not be a cheat.

One place where I would love to see your improved balor is Yaga-Shura's lair. Imagine a situation like this:
After defeating the fire giants, the party finds the stash in Yaga-Shura's chamber. It turns out to be openable by Yaga Shura only (so they need his heart to get the heart of the witch) The Yaga Shura's heart is protected by spells that require two wardstones (he seems to like them) One can be found on the body of the priest (instead of the balor's claw) and the elemental prince has got the other one.

So, after cleaning the whole level, the party approaches the brazier, ready to break the wards. But instead, they hear a deep voice: "So, the giant's minions got themselves killed and the enemy is coming for his most prized possession. I have been offered a thousand souls for guarding the burning heart and I will not have my deal ruined by a bunch of pathetic mortals!"

The ground shakes, all the doors on the level slam shut (along with the barrier on the stairs) ,Balor's retinue appears (detonating any traps prepared against their master), Kagnax\Dragon battle music starts, the Balor appears. Now, this is the right way to get the Balor's claw.

I know this mod is about correcting things in the game, not adding new ones but perhaps you could consider this?
Then she saw his eyes, red and mad as hell. And in that moment she knew that he could kill anyone, no matter how strong. Madness, true madness could put a fist through a plank.

Yep, it's a more fitting way to get the balor's claw. I have doubts though if Yaga-Shura could have a Balor to help him... <_<

Well, he does have an elemental prince working for him.
And the other members of The Five have got some unusual allies. Why not make a pact with the Abyss? His army could gather enough captives for a sufficient sacrafice. (I think there is a long line of chained people in ToB intro) And the heart, being his only weakness, is worth guarding well. He left the "keys" to his best servants in case of some emergency but he wouldn't trust them completely.

The real problem is that he should have no way to get in contact with such a powerful abyssal lord. While he is strong in manpower and commands a small army, he is very short on powerful spellcasters. And Balors are only summonable by those.
Imix (the Elemental Prince) is an exception, since he comes from the Elemental Plane of Fire, and Fire Giants have their own ways to access it.

Well, TG, I think I caught you here. Yaga-Shura could use Nyalee's help, she's a powerful cleric.

Sorry Feanor, not this time :D :
1.: she is a druid.
2.: even if she would be a cleric, she wouldn't be able to summon Balors.

Well , he did this trick with the heart.
While he is no titan in magic battles, he seems to be more than competent in ritual magic.
